Try replacing your CMOS battery

#

Do you know what motherboard model you have?

grim hawk
#

No idea

#

It has a switch o the back that says bios flbk does that reset my bios?

runic mural
#

Pretty sure that just lets you install a new bios

indigo grove
#

It's used to update the bios

runic mural
#

Yeah thought so

indigo grove
#

flbk = flashback

grim hawk
#

So I reset cmos and it should fix?

runic mural
#

Possibly

grim hawk
#

Where would I find my cmos battery?

runic mural
#

If it is not that then it could possibly be a short or something on your motherboards USB headers

runic mural
grim hawk
#

Found it

#

It’s really wedged in between my gpu and mobo though

runic mural
grim hawk
#

No idea

runic mural
#

Okay

#

I'll walk you through it

grim hawk
#

Okay

runic mural
#

First things first, flip the switch on your power supply and then unplug it

grim hawk
#

Done

runic mural
#

If you look at the top of the cable connected to the GPU, there's a small clip, make sure uou press on the back of the clip so it unclips and remove the cable

grim hawk
#

Should it take a lot of force?

#

Got it

runic mural
#

Okay, now find a Philips head screwdriver and unscrew the 2 black screws on the left side of the gpu

grim hawk
#

I’ll find one

runic mural
#

Once you do that do not try and pull your GPU out, there is one more step

grim hawk
#

Should these thing come all the way out?

runic mural
#

Let me know when you've found one and ping me

runic mural
grim hawk
#

Got them out

runic mural
#

Now for the hard part

grim hawk
#

What do I need?

runic mural
#

At the base of you GPU there should be a clip

#

This image is looking at the top of the gpu

grim hawk
#

I see it

runic mural
#

Okay, you need to push that clip to the right, and towards the motherboard

#

It should sorta click into place and you GPU should nudge a little bit

#

It's probably gonna be hard for you given your large CPU cooler

grim hawk
#

That’s the clip

runic mural
#

Yes

grim hawk
#

Got it

runic mural
#

Okay

#

Now slowly wiggle your GPU and pull away from the motherboard

grim hawk
#

Got it

runic mural
#

Alright

#

Do you know what model CPU you have?

grim hawk
#

Ryzen 5 7500f

runic mural
#

Okay, that's gonna make things a bit tougher

#

Now you can pop out the CMOS battery and replace it

grim hawk
#

How do I take it out?

runic mural
# grim hawk

You can use something flat to sorta get under it at the top

#

But be careful not to scratch the motherboard

grim hawk
#

The clip at the bottom is holding it in

runic mural
#

Just pop the clip maybe

grim hawk
#

Got it out

#

So replace it?

#

Replaced it

#

Now I should put gpu back on?

#

In

runic mural
#

just incase you need to remove it again

grim hawk
#

Okay

runic mural
#

sorry i was gone for a while, had to do something

grim hawk
#

It’s screwed in

#

Do I plug in the power cable to the gpu?

grim hawk
runic mural
#

then plug the power supply back in and turn it on

grim hawk
#

Yeah no change

runic mural
#

okay

grim hawk
#

Still giving me the usb over current error

runic mural
#

there should be some thick cables running to the front of your pc

#

they look to be to the right of your gpu a little bit up

#

try unplugging those

grim hawk
#

I fixed it

#

I guess the cables leading to my usb needed to be reseated

#

Thanks for everything!
