#Memory issue after new cpu

Do you mean just clearing cmos?
that or enter bios and hit the reset hot key
I reset my cmos and set all of my bios back to default yes
so you not running xmp?
Correct
maybe reseat cpu
Originally I was and had no issue now I am having issues without
Yeah I was hoping to avoid having to reseat it but I guess I will end up having to do that tomorrow. 😕 make sure none of the pins are damaged or anything is in them.
Which it looked fine when I checked earlier but who knows.
I take that back xmp was apparently still enabled. Must have switched it to a different profile and thought I disabled it. Seems to be running fine without it.
ok then i gess your cpu dont like that overclock then
Yeah and I’m assuming there’s nothing I can do about that?
Go to C:\Windows\Minidump and check if you have any minidump files. If you do, go back to the Windows folder and copy the Minidump folder itself to the Downloads folder (You can use the desktop if you don't have OneDrive syncing files). Zip the copied folder and attach it to a post. Please follow the instructions to the letter as Windows doesn't like you messing with files in this location.
Hard to say 100% for sure from just two dump files because memory issues will usually just blame random processes (It just lists what had its data corrupted), but this looks more like memory than anything else.
So first step I would do is trying a non-OC speed for the RAM. That CPU's highest officially supported RAM speed is 5600MT/s
Its odd to me that there is only two dumps it crashed and blue screened on me atleast a dozen times.
Ok should I mess with CL at all or just mts?
If you want to, I'm on a tech support discord where we made a tool to grab a ton of logs from Windows which could maybe give more insight. Not getting dump files could be an indicator of something else. I completely understand not wanting to run random software so I won't link anything unless you want to run it.
If you want to see what it does, here is a screenshot of a report of my PC
I’ll definitely consider it. However I did just fresh install windows so aside from the crashes that have been happening there is probably not many dump files or crash reports
Yes, a reinstall would wipe the dump files.
Did you get the 13900K before the microcode fix?
My original was before that yes this was a replacement because of that.
And the bios updated had been installed before the new cpu was installed
Ok, when those CPUs fry it just looks like memory so just getting a clear picture
Ok I’m testing 5600mts currently. In the meantime the only two blue screen codes I was able to catch before they disappeared were. KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK FAILURE and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL if they weren’t included in the dump.
Ok, only writing the crash code apparent triggers a caps lock filter or something on this Discord so it delete my message
irql_not_less_or_equal and system_thread_exception_not_handled
No crashes at 5600mts. However I did crash again before changing those settings and got another dumpfile, Crashed right on boot.
Running memtest86 without xp zero errors in 8 tests. Running memtest86 with xmp 6600mt/s cl32 errors within the first second. And I mean a lot of errors…
just sanity checking somthing
Fair enough lol
Im not a complete novice but this is just annoying. Just got back from a long work trip and wanted to play some cs and couldn’t.
So I just lost the chip lottery with my new cpu I guess? It can’t handle the same xmp my old one did?
That's what it looks like. If 5600 is stable, increase the speed by one step and use it for a few days to see if it's stable, repeat until you hit the highest speed it's stable at.
And I would just use it normally instead of running a memory tester during this
