So i have a ryzen 7 5800x with 32gb of ram and I have Nvidia drivers it is an asus graphics card
Whats your PSU, and where is it saying you don’t have a GPU in the slot? Are you using generic drivers or?
Yeah I think just generic I've never really done anything but update my 3060's drivers before this. I have a 750 watt I made sure I head more than the recommended amount just in case
Okay so, when it’s saying you haven’t got a GPU in the slot, is that through a display output on your GPU?
Alright, do you have the nvidia app downloaded?
Yes
When I open it there is no game drivers available and I can't go download one from the app
It's just studio drivers
Uh I'd have to reinstall the gpu csn you give me a few minutes?
I put my old card back in since I couldn't get the 5070 to work
Alright
Ok gotcha
But this is really the driver you want
So either will work, I just recommend the nvidia app because it’s newer
Ok gotcha
Now obviously there’s always a chance for the driver to just cause a black screen since all 50 series supported drivers have had issues, but you should be fine, and hopefully it will work
My fps on home windows is like 25-30
That’s because you’re currently using the generic driver
Aaaah
Not an nvidia one
Ok I understand now
I love doing this kinda thing i want to take classes to learn more
It's fun
Yeah, so as well like I said, nvidia app I recommend, and if at any point you get the black screen bug, just let me know
So it restarted for the Nvidia install still runs at about 25-30 I'm assuming because I still need to download the drivers
Oh it already is installing it
Yeah
Screen should flash black for around 10-30 seconds, then it should come back on and look more normal and feel smoother
And then you might need to change your Hz in settings
Yeah I figured I'd have to reset my Hz
I'm gonna have to order a gpu support bracket for this monster holy moly
Don't want any gpu sag
Does yours not come with a bracket? My TUF did
If you have it, you put the screwdriver end in first, then put it under your GPU, pull it up and then tighten it
Pretty neat 2-in-1 tool they include
Np
I'd like to help people the way you just helped me
I bet it feels gratifying to help others with problems like this
Kinda, once it took 3 hours for me to help someone with something, their PC just didn’t like their new CPU for some reason. Think I was more relieved than them at the end lmao
Haha yeah I can see thay
Originally I had cpu problems turns out the cpu I was using from an old rebuild was hardware locked
I had to buy a new one
Ah, yeah this persons it just plain didn’t work, new CPU, updated BIOS
Can’t remember how we fixed it tbh
I just need a better cpu now cause my ryzen 7 5600x for sure is going to not let me get all the performance I want from my gpu
Or eh I think I'll be fine for a while
Yeah, the best gaming CPU you can get without having to replace your motherboard and RAM is the 5800x3D, not sure but I think around 10% performance increase on average maybe more
No problem
