Should I upgrade or keep current components?

I am debating on a few things for my build. All of my components are still returnable, so that is currently on the table

Should I:

• Return CPU/Motherboard and opt for the AM5 platform; which CPU? (Something similar to the 5600x/5700x would be nice, budget friendly?)

• Return RAM for DDR5 kit (Doing this regardless if I switch to AM5); what speed? (ex. 3600 is the “sweet spot” for DDR4)

• Return GPU and switch to Nvidia/AMD (found 7700XT @ MicroCenter for roughly $500. Good deal? Bad?)

Any additional pointers for upgrading my build is greatly appreciated, I am targeting 1440p for games like The Last of Us and Call of Duty

Will upgrading to DDR5/AM5 offer any performance increases alongside the B580? Thanks in advance

Upgrading to AM5 especially the better X3D CPUs can get you up to 10-15FPS more fps based on the 5800X3D and 9800X3D. You also get PCIE 5.0 capabilities on the PCIe x16 which means bigger bandwidth overall so yes a must to upgrade

Im not a RAM nerd but better RAM will make your pc slightly faster too but not really sure about that

what am5 cpu would u recommend?

Ryzen 5 9600 or 7600 should be good budget ones

I don’t think you’re really going to see a noticeable difference between those CPUs, at least in gaming. So it’s up to you. The 9700x will be a tad faster in production etc

the 9600x is cheaper than the 7600 as well
