#Youtube is asking to log in to verify i'm not a bot.

Looks like you’re going to stop watching YouTube.
Websites may utilize all kinds of detection methods to verify if someone is a "bot" or human. These methods could involve your IP address, web browser cookies, date & time, other patterns, the alignment of the sun, moon, and stars, etc. If you can't verify you're a human without logging in, you may no longer be able to use the service.
It randomly disappeared after few hours, but it again appeared after few hours and went away after a while. Its been 2 days now so i just hope this is not the new norm. Well see.
is there a captcha showing when youtube blocks you?
If this persists you can message Youtube / Google Support to resolve this with them.
Bro, you will create an account on discord, but not google / youtube?
Bro doesn’t want his data tracked for unlimited free content
Youtube can be used without an account easily, there are no drawbacks in that if you do it correctly, i have all the channels i follow saved. When it comes to Discord, Discord is 100% unusable without account.
No captcha. The video is blacked out with white text in the middle.
Ever hear of just making stuff up?
Right, just make something up with a Gmail account.
You are using a phone with an account. Gurantee its either android or apple.
Just odd to me is all, you do you boo
What he watches will still be tracked and cookies will still be targeted at what he browses. Regardless of a false email address etc. point is though, you can’t expect something for free and nothing in return.
That still happens regardless
And also true, to what you said at the end
Sorry, can you guys continue in chat channels? Thank you
We are talking about your specific issue. But you had this answered already so close the thread.
The only answer to the issue came from an automated AI. Also getting an answer doesnt mean i got the answer that solves the problem. I could go to every forum post to give my "answer" but that doesnt mean they actually got the answer they deserved if it didnt solve anything.
The answer was from someome who looked it up based on other threads.
YouTube asks that you show you are not a bot. Thats nothing new and something many people experience. It will continue to be used at random.
And we are intelligent people who can come up with workarounds, at least some of us are.
You may have been lucky and just not had it effect you until now. But it's something I have seen, personally. And know for a fact it has been used for a very long time. Some people just aren't .... intelligent to know about this and create threads already knowing the answer
Google has always used a tactic where they deploy counter measures in different parts of the world in different times, this is to not cause headlines or topics in forums that instantly get a lot of traction and answers, when you deploy any kind of anti-anti-ad service measure, you reduce the impact of the people gathering together to solve the problem on hand. It seems you are un-aware of this. You still havent brought anything to this thread so please just leave.
If you want to play mental gymnastics that's fine. But you know the answer already. You clearly do, so why ask? Why continue it at all. Just close it.
Some anti-anti-ad measure from Google has a over a year apart when we look at where they have deployed these measure, the difference is not even country specific but IP specific, so you might get problems while your neighbour sees the same counter measure one year later.
If you want to bypass it, give ublock a try on firefox or chrome.
uBlock doesnt bypass it unfortunately, or maybe it has in the past without my knowledge but is unable to do it anymore, but in any case i have it installed, thank you for the suggestion
Welcome. But again, there isn't a way to bypass the "are you a bot" protective measure without doing some things that might be deemed illegal depending where you live. It's one of those, you either just do the code on occasion, or stop using it unfortunately
I would like to think people who are already in to LTT stuff, we don't like to give up that easily. We help each other to keep the internet as free as we possibly can, even it becomes harder every passing day. But lets not fill this with our chatting, i hope you have a great day and no technical difficulties on your end!
I can give you a better answer now I have thought of it
Using it on my tv I never get it. On all other devices I’m logged in anyway.
So solution is watch on a TV
I guess now you can close the thread as you’ve got a work around?
Lol
@harsh aspen what exactly did the error say?
this?
Are you using a VPN? If yes, disable it or switch servers until it works.
This is what I've found in regards to that error:
- This is an IP block.
- Instead of just banning one IP, it looks YouTube is blocking whole ASNs/IP ranges. If you encounter this issue, it's likely a "neighboring" IP address was bombarding YouTube, causing them to block the ASN/IP range you're in.
Try restarting your router. Some internet providers allocate a new ip when restarting.
While it would be great to have a truly free and open internet, it is indeed up to the sites / services to decide how free and open they want to be. For example, I could create a sports blog that doesn't even let Google's search crawler bot index it because 1) it's a bot and 2) I don't want any of my paywalled content anywhere on the internet.
Now, if my anti-bot / protection system falsely detects a regular user as a robot (or otherwise doing things I deem suspicious), I may choose to have the system require they pass a Captcha or create an account, for example. If these requirements are in my site's Terms of Service... Welp, legally, that's the end of that for users attempting workarounds, especially those attempting to discuss workarounds in places where such things aren't allowed.
Long short: if there was a magic workaround, everyone and their dog would likely already know. Without knowing why YouTube is asking you to sign in, we can only guess. If you want it to stop asking, you either create an account, or stop using the service. I'm not saying there isn't a workaround; but trying to bypass a site / service's protection mechanism's isn't really something we can help with beyond basic network troubleshooting steps, like trying other internet connections, web browsers, etc.
Exactly this yes. But, its been 3 days now and it has only happened 3 times, 2 times at sunday and one time at monday. Hasnt happened since monday now, which is good.
This makes the most amount of sense. I also was thinking this was the issue, but could not be sure.
