#System instability?

I honestly can't tell what's going at times. I've got a Ryzen 7 5800x3d and a 4070 Ti Super, mobo's X570 TUF Gaming Plus, ram's kingston fury running at about 2800mhz.

For example about 40 mins ago I launch Ghost of Tsushima, 60fps, not normal, the fps graph also is not normal it's just going up and down constantly, I restart my pc and back to the usual over 120fps i get. I noticed this in other games too like Space Marine 2 (although with as regard to that one i dont usually have any issues with it).

The GPU usage for example in Ghost of Tsushima was about 30-40%, I restart and it's at 100% in the same setting. This is at 1080p by the way.

Has anyone an idea what is happening here? I am on Windows 11.

#

The thing that stands out to me at least is that the FPS graph is like this usually

#

I am not sure if this is an issue with Windows 11, ram or what exactly it is.

#

It sure seems to be something very basic, foundational.

#

If I had to guess, ram or Windows 11 would be the culprit. But for ram, everyone keeps telling me speed doesn't matter so I believe them.

#

everyone says amd has bad drivers

#

so maybe nvidia does too

#

cause this shit aint normal

#

Have you made sure your driver are the latest?

#

The 4070ti shouldnt have problems with their drivers

I dont know, but i am having these weird issues

hmm

if you JUST booted it up and got ur high fps and later the fps drasticly slows down i think other programs are slowing it down

wet spruce
#

have nothing that runs like that in the background

#

in any case, why would the GPU usage be at 33% and when i restart it then it ramps up to 100%?

#

I figure it's something to do with Windows, I don't know what.

#

I know Windows 11 is a piece of shit for gaming.

#

maybe

#

ctrl+shift+esc and click startup and disable apps that you dont want starting up

wet spruce
#

it's something else going on here

#

i dont have anything that could consume so much that performance drops 2.5x

#

and again, gpu usage at 33% before the restart, i restart and then it's at 100% where i get normal performance

#

whatch the task manager as you boot up like instantly open task manager and just see wats happeing

#

but that can also be malware where i recomend

#

win+r and type mrt

#

and run a full scam

#

scan*

wet spruce
#

well, if i had malware i would have been done for a long time ago.

stuck snow
#

but the full scan can take like ~3h

#

so be ready

#

well it matters are you on an nvme ssd

#

i remember it taking like 2h to get half on my previous laptop
