What psu do you have
well i finaly bought the gpu so now im actualy looking for a purchase
cheap if possible 650 - 750W
maybe a semi modular would be nice if there are any at that low price
and only need 2x 8pin
Go for anything b or a
is it better to have a psu with more power?
like its gonna go more easy on it self?
I would just grab the 750 for room yo upgrade or something
i wont. im still on am4
ill most likely just sell the whole pc once i want to upgrade
MAG A650BN: BRONZE power supply for strong, prompt performance The MSI MAG A650BN is a 650 watt gaming power supply with 80 PLUS bronze certification that provides a safe, reliable and efficient foundation for PC systems. might just grab this
Not the best but good enough
wait i dont need to worry about size right? i have an atx case so it should all fit?
wait
i think the powersupply has 2x 6+2pins but its daisychained
isnt that bad?
shouldnt i be using 2 seperate cables to power a 2x8pin gpu?
it also says 5x sata and you know sata connectors are always daisy chained
i contacted MSI and they did not recommend the daisy chain
the cables can do 300w but the connector can only do 150 well rated for it
The Daisy chain is fine. In theory you got 600w of power in those 2 cables.
i see that be quiet uses a 2x6 connector that splits into 2 8pins
but im also now just looking for psu's that just have 2 or more separate 8pin connectors
1000w+ PSUs will. You can buy more cables for modular PSUs individually
@golden elbow i finally got my psu but one of the cables came broken
what
pic
na its fine
really?
as long as it just stays there and you do not put any major stain on it its fine
just make sure when its in the pc that its all the way in
i mean yeah i guess its not gonna move
but still, i mean its literally brand new and already broken
who do i contact for a new cable?
straight to corsair?
or amazon
It’s just plastic shrouding. Looks like someone smoothed it out by hand
nope dat is just broken off
I was looking at the split at the top
you can contact corsair about a replacement cable and just use that one for the time being
💀 im gonna have to reinsert the 24pin multiple times
2 times
yeah but that shit is like an excalibur
na
if i tell corsair i need a new cable, they will just send it right?
im not gonna have to return stuf?
just show the pic of the broken cable and they should just ship a cable from my understanding
can a loose connector be a fire hazzard?
eh it will be fine
i like the confidence
i hate my case
i have to take out my motherboard if i want to remove the cpu cable
had a case like that and yup its not fun
should i just cut the cable?
the only reson i would keep this psu is as a backup
and its not even worth selling
if i cut the cable i can save my self a headache and an hour
ooooh fuuuuuuck ur right 😭
yes but it will not be easy
O NO that usb 3 cable
also why do you have a tpm 2.0 thingy
another thing i have the same motherboard
tpm was for windows 11
your cpu has tpm 2.0
the motherboard needs it
no
i had a r5 2600
that supports windows 11, just need to update the bios
well i did all this long ago when w11 was still new
did that benchmark thing and it said i needed tpm
so i bought the dongle for like 10€
and the usb 3
i had someone else install the cpu for me
i couldn't bother tinkering with the pc at that time
the cooler is upside down, does nothing for performance but just looks a bit strange with the text the wrong way
same
any tips on what i can do while i have the whole pc disassembled?
take a towl and clean the dust
im sad couse ill be doing all of this all over again probably soon
why?
na they are fine
but have a better cooler
what are temps like
gpu 80
probably throttling because in software it has a 83 limit
and cpu 60 to 70
those are plenty good enough
but before i undervolted it it was 87
i know the temps arend dangerous or anything. its just fans whining at almost full load
welp that will be fixed with the new gpu
cool stuff
in short it allows for better thermal transfer from the heat making chip to the cooler itself
im still thinking i might go and grab one more fan
but then again its gonna be stipid if im gonna be buying a new case anyways
is this thing just for rgb?
Yea
