So I was playing ultrakill over parsec and my gameplay freezes and my screen hooked up to my pc was black and now my GPU is not being detected on my system and it won’t boot into windows. Now I don’t know what to do

rx 6600
ryzen 5500

Take it out, re-seat it

#

If that doesnt work, it could mean that its dead, or that the slot is damaged.
Do you have another card you could try?

sick creek
#

I don’t have another card and I know it’s not the motherboard because I just got a new one

paper sage
#

Welp, try uninstalling the graphics card, and put it back in

sick creek
#

Did that and nothing changed

paper sage
#

Oof

#

No on board graphics?

sick creek
#

Nope

paper sage
#

Do you have another system laying abouts?

sick creek
#

Yea but I’m using them as servers and they don’t have dedicated graphics

paper sage
#

Hmm, does the PCIe slot or the gpu itself have any sort of damage?

sick creek
#

Doesn’t seem like it

paper sage
#

Okay so

#

Im sure there are very scientific ways of testing this

sick creek
paper sage
#

Looks good to me
Did the gpu work with your old motherboard?

sick creek
#

It did for a year then the top pcie slot stopped working

paper sage
#

Well youve had lots of bad luck then

paper sage
sick creek
#

Yea

paper sage
#

Im dumb, i can see that on the picture

#

Does the lower one on yiur old motherboard still work?

sick creek
#

I don’t think it does anymore

paper sage
#

Well shit

#

I dont think that light would come on if there was a faulty screen

#

Maybe it does idk tbh

#

Wait

#

In every pcie slot this card has been in, has been ruined, right?

sick creek
#

I don’t think so

paper sage
#

Maybe the card shorts or something and the pcie on the motherboard takes the damage

sick creek
#

When I turn off the system the gpu fans go a little then stop

paper sage
#

Hmm

sick creek
paper sage
#

Could it be a bad or loose power cable to the cpu?

#

Sorry, GPU*

sick creek
#

Maybe. When I was troubleshooting my server I plugged in my gpu to it and it wasn’t turning on but when I took out the gpu it turned on

paper sage
#

Hml

#

How long have you had this gpu?

sick creek
#

Since the Christmas of 23

paper sage
#

Oh its pretty recenr series

#

So. I would try to get a hold of a graphics card, literally anything would work. An old friends gtx960 or whatever

It that works, we know that the PCIe on the motherbpard works

#

And as you said the server didnt like the GPU, so it is possibly that the GPU is the issue.
Its just a whole lotta money getting a new one

sick creek
#

Yea also I did smell burning from the gpus power cord after i put the gpu in the server

paper sage
#

I think the gpu is dead then. How's the warranty?

sick creek
#

I don’t know how to check it, the ASRock warranty thing is confusing to me

paper sage
#

Welp

sick creek
#

It just booted

#

I swapped the power cord from one port on the power supply and the gpu spinned to life

#

I’ll do a benchmark to make sure it’s working correctly

#

It seems to be running good

paper sage
#

Welp there we go, maybe a bad psu then

sick creek
#

Maybe

paper sage
#

But the gpu still smoked from when you put it in the server
