Hey all, I am turning 21 and I want to splurge on my self a little. I have never owned a PC before and i think its finally time. I am wanting to spend around $2000 all in (including tax) so maybe around 1700 pre tax. I was wondering if someone could hook me up with a good pcpartpicker list. I plan to use it for gaming, school work, and booting up virtual machines for work (cybersecurity). Ik I want AMD (i am open to suggestions) but was seeing if someone would be nice enough to help me out since I am not familar with everything. thank you!

I’d say just black. Some rgb but not the biggest deal to me

Gotchu

#

Tbh it’s not the best time to buy a pc

#

The GPU prices are crazy rn

#

4080s are going for 4090 msrp or more

#

4070s are typically 500 going for 1000

#

But I’d wait until it dies down to buy it

#

Ima still make a build for a current 2k tho

#

It’s bc of the stopped production of the higher tiered nvidia 4000 series cards. AMD is also high cuz they are slowing production for the 7000 series in preparation for the 9 series

idrk much about used prices but I’d assume they’re hopefully not as egregious as new prices

The reason my mobo was more expensive was my cpu was a full generation a head of u

9700x is barely better

Ngl you are just pretty clueless

the 9700x is better than the 7700x at a considerable margin. It’s more efficient and has a higher boost clock. You could probably get a cheaper mobo and update the bios but idk if they wanna do that. The Ssd is reliable and the ram is to I’m not saying yours isn’t like your ssd is a great choice as well. I included my ram because the way it looks is nice and it has rgb and with decent performance which the guy asked for. Your psu is better in which I agree. At this point I didn’t have space for your GPU choice so I had to go with a cheaper option. I did say that there is prolly better than my build but considering all factors right now isn’t the time in which one could produce their best build. I could have also researched more because micro center has some great bundles in which you can whack off a few dollars. I’m just trying to make a build that factored into some criteria. For example, “rgb”. I guess I could have used a different case but I really like the king 95 with the fish tank glass case and it comes with 6 fans so it would look good. Also Montech is known for their user friendly cases so yea.

4 percwnt faster for a 30 dollar difference is good also the single, double, etc etc core speeds are 8-10 percent faster along with the oc being decently faster along with it being a newer chipset
