I started my build with a GTX 1070 and a 9600k, upgraded my graphics card to a 3060ti 2 years ago and I've recently started to notice a large bottleneck in cpu intensive gaming. I currently have a Z390 motherboard and will most likely have to do a platform upgrade, so my options are fairly open for a processor. I've looked online at benchmarks and advice, and the 5700x3d has really stood out as a processor that could eliminate the bottleneck I have and provide higher more stable FPS lows, additionally, it seems it will work great for future GPU upgrades into the higher end. However I've also seen issues raised regarding the upgrade paths available CPU-wise, as it is an AM4 chip. I play games at 1080p and that is the maximum resolution for both of my monitors, I'm not sure if that would be a concern?
Generally, I'm here asking for advice on whether this platform upgrade would be worth the few hundred dollars, and whether or not there's a better alternative. My budget is more or less $800 CAD maximum.
