Hi, i built my PC a week ago with all new parts except the GPU and CPU they are second hand. Everything works fine but i have an issue. On saturday i was playing DayZ and i got a random black screen. I couldnt Alt Tab or anything basically everything just shut off but the PC fans were still spinning and RGBs working. Yesterday it happened again. Please help.
My build:

CPU Ryzen 5 7600X
GPU Nvidia RTX 3070
32GB DDR5 Ram
1TB Adata SSD
MB MSI Pro B650-S WIFI
PSU GIGABYTE P650G 650W

anyone know what to do?

Did you still have sound during the blackscreen?

rigid mauve
#

the rgbs were still on and the fans spinning

Next time it happens, press Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B

#

That manually resets the gpu driver. You can try it now for shits n giggles to see what it does.

#

Its possible it's a driver crash and isn't able to recover.

If you are using nvidia app, it's under system, video

ill uninstall every driver and redownload only the nvidia drivers and ill update bios

snow crane
#

So basically, Download driver - unhook internet - boot into safe mode - run ddu (select nvidia, intel, and amd) only select option to restart on nvidia in your sake - restart - install driver - once driver is installed, hook back up the internet

can i watch a youtube tutorial on this?

#

because its hard like this

#

a little

#

haha

snow crane
#

You can sure, but i gave a few extra steps to make sure nothing else accidently downloads

rigid mauve
#

alright thanks man i appreciatte it. I will try everything and if it happens again then the guy i bought the gpu from said he will replace the gpu or return money

snow crane
#

It could be a slew of possible problems. The easiest is to redo the drivers which is what ddu will allow you to do

rigid mauve
#

hopefully it gets fixed

snow crane
#

Just make sure you are disconnected from the internet, and don't hook back up until AFTER ddu has finished, you have restarted, and have installed your gpu drivers

like no internet connected to pc at all

rigid mauve

oh

snow crane
#

Download the driver ahead of time

So basically, Download driver - unhook internet - boot into safe mode - run ddu (select nvidia, intel, and amd) only select option to restart on nvidia in your sake - restart - install driver - once driver is installed, hook back up the internet

Ah ok mb

Also, don't change that to 99%. I really don't feel like listing every reason here, but just dont.

#

If you feel like having a read, just Google it. Why you shouldn't set power plan processor management to 99%
