Hello,
I am experiencing sudden CPU usage spikes. I am fairly certain it is Antimalware Service Executable, which goes to 80-100% for a second or two and then stops being as high.
It wasn't happening like a week ago.

Anyway to diagnose what it's scanning?
I can't seem to find any correlation between other tasks that I am doing in the moment this happens.

Thanks

Quick deep scan doesn't sound right. As I said it lasts a second, just one big spike on a graph.
I don't remember this happening until now.

I don't mean to be rude, but this is not helpful. This is some copy paste for users with low-end hardware.
I am trying to solve weird bahviour that wasn't happening in the past.

Sorry, this is what came up for me when I was looking at resolutions for random CPU spikes. I'll have another look and see if I can find other people having the exact same issue

It could be real time scanning, it usually does a very quick scan of a file when its accessed

#

It might be worth turning that option off and seeing if the spikes stop.
I meant to ask, how frequently do the spikes happen?

I will try to count them and be more observent.

In that case it may be the real time scanning. Try that and see if the spikes stop

It finally happened again
