Hello,
I am looking to build a NAS for the first time with my spare parts after upgrading my pc. I will have a spare MB, 12700k CPU, 32GB RAM, and 256GB boot SSD.
I would love to use the nas like a sort of google photos server, data storage, games server. So I have the following questions:

  • What sort of Os/distro should I use? And what games would linux be a barrier to host?
  • What software would you recommend me to use for picture/video hosting (something like google photos)?
  • What case would fit an ATX MB + 4 3.5” bays and be small and inexpensive?
  • Would I need a GPU for some games? If yes, how strong does it need to be?

Ping me if you reply pls
