#I want to switch from an amd to an nvidia but still keeping under $2000 AUD

So switch it then. What's stopping you from doing so
Switch it to what tho
Are you looking for a gpu equivalent in perfomance or equivalent in price
4070 super is still within budget
@dusk valve
I’m looking for mainly performance wise but still kinda cheap
Is the 4070 Super fine
Any specific reason you want to switch to Nvidia?
Nvidia doesn't really have a card that competes with 7700xt price to performance wise. I would not recommend 4060ti 8gb...
But if you are willing to spend more money, 4070super is fine.. But for the same money you can get 7900xt which absolutely crushes 4070super in every single game if RT is off 😅 and even with RT on they are not that far apart.
It's an awkward price point where Nvidia is not competitive at all. 4080super is a different discussion, that's where Nvidia starts to level the playing field. Because that card is good enough to justify using ray tracing, and with RT turned on it will be better than what AMD offers for the same price.
I just checked Australian prices ... Your options are even more limited than I thought 😅 Nvidia pricing is even more fucked there than USA or Europe. You would be spending a minimum of $939.00 for a 4070 super just to compete with the 7700xt that you can get for 679
Or well technically 899, but I would not get that model because it is a less reliable model
Thank you for your help sugar the main is because I wanted to be able to more easily see what graphics card I had there is no proper reason I just wanted to be better then my friends
😅 ok lol. So you're not actually looking to switch? just wanting to see what competes with 7700xt? you could have rephrased your question
Yeah I prolly should have tbh but yeah scoping the competition you could say
It does depend a bit on what games you play though... But generally speaking you could say 7700xt is about on par with 4070.
I’m not playing to high end games just some modded minecraft stuff like that without lagging and some more but still
Modded minecraft lol. Unless using heavy shaders and high resolution, you would be fine with a gt1030... Entry level budget gpu which is basically useless for games from 2017.
Your CPU and ram matters much more for MC
So you’re saying my gpu is fine for the stuff I wanna play?
For modded Minecraft? it is far beyond overkill. If you are having performance issues, it is not because of your hardware.
Oh no I don’t have that pc that’s what I want
I also wanna play like Eldin ring some scp games Fortnite he’ll let loose those types of games
I assume you will not just play Minecraft for the rest of your life? because for Minecraft that computer is very much overkill
Yeah this would do well in those games also
Ok cool thank you very much for your help would you also say the rest of my pc is good for those to
What resolution is your monitor and what FPS are you targeting?
Around 30 min

You should be fine playing elden ring on any settings you want though. And fortnite is also trivial. You can play fortnite on a potato more or less.
Fps test for ELDEN RING 1080p with an Rx 7700XT and a Ryzen 5 5600 Sam is on.
Recorded on AMD Driver. Sry for the artifacts its youtube compression
My Specs
GPU: Rx 7700XT Sapphire Pulse
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
CPU Fan: Xilence M705D
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 16GBx2 3600Mhz
Mainboard: Asrock B550 pro4
Power supply: Be quiet! Pure Power 11 600...
That’s my monitor
I can’t play Fortnite on my computer it is so laggy
In the video he is capped at 60fps... So on maximum settings he is only using 50% gpu so really the 7700xt is good for 120fps on max settings
1080p display... Yeah you will be fine for a long time :P
250hz is very high, but I guess you don't need that full FPS on all games.
So everything is good
PLE computers have a bunch of prebuilts you should have a look at.
All good 👍
not to buy but to get ideas
I think the system he already picked is a good balance 🙃 but sure doing more research does not hurt.
I also recommend looking up videos on youtube with the specs you look at to get an idea
I havent looked at it, but yeah just ideas for research
I saw a guy the other day spend like 3k aud for a 4070 and 7800x3d but 16gb slow ram and shit rest of computer
they got scammed asf lmao
5600x and rx7700xt, both seem competitively priced in Australia, I looked up their pricing compared to other models.
OMG 😅 worst possible combination of parts lol
7800x3d doesn't care much about fast ram ... But still 16gb is a sin.
Also 4070 with 7800x3d? lol
Unless you target lowest possible settings 1080p at super high refresh rates, don't ever do this.
Thanks for the advice
