#Bios beeps

1 long, 3 short, pause, 1 short beep
Only happens when I don’t have a monitor connected
It still boots, and I can access the server via ssh as expected...
Should I just unplug the buzzer 😂
I discovered it's related to the ubuntu bootloader, and I can remove the noise by disabling the graphical terminal.
But I don't want to disable the graphical terminal?
what problem do you have with the beeps if it works fine for you
It beeps
and you dont want it to beep?
Beeps
yes I don't want the beeps
nobody likes the beeps
Prolly angry at you it wants a monitor 😿
I agree, probably cuz of the monitor.
It has so many other ways to express its pixelated mind
If you dont like the beeps, just disconnect the buzzer
I'm sure the beeps mean "no video output device found" or something
Yeah that’s 1/3 solutions I have
Exactly
- Disconnect beeper
- Disable graphical terminal
- Buy a dummy hdmi plug
sure it's ubunto and not the motherboard? Do you have a gpu?
igpu
Which motherboard?
Asus prime h610m-a d4
Bought in 2022, just recently started using (updated bios to latest)
welp
My theory is
It's not detecting a video card (obviously) And if you don't have a monitor connected, it thinks somethings wrong
Hmm
I’m gonna try disabling graphical terminal
Because if that fixes it I know that that’s the issue for sure
alrighty
If it is I’ll reenable it and remove the buzzer
Did not fix it
I personally wouldn’t care because the beeps are only at startup and it isn’t affecting anything
