There doesn't seem to be any operating system installed on it, hence it telling you to insert boot media/device, you need to create a bootable installation media and insert it to install it
E.g. burning the Windows ISO to a USB drive and inserting it
Thank you very much!
Btw what windows sistem should I use for this thing?
You mean what Windows version?
Yes
Well I'd need specs of said laptop, otherwise I'd just be making guesses
It a tntel atom n2600 1.60ghz with 1024mb memory and ddr3
Yeah, that won't run any supported version of Windows
What about an older version?
Not worth it I'd say
But
What it will run and with minimal hassle
Is Linux Mint
Where can I get it?
And it should be good enough to even run the Cinnamon Edition
What Combi said, however if you need Windows on that system, the latest version it'll be able to run is Windows 7
And that's for its 32-bit version, 64-bit requires 2 GB of RAM
Huh I know it a drr3 but idk the amount of ram so I probably will try the Linux system
Also 1 GB of RAM isn't gonna be sufficient to run Linux Mint properly either, that amount of RAM is painfully low for anything nowadays
So I have to check the ram first?
Did you not check it already?
I just open the case and see it a drr3 didn't bother to look further....
It has 1024MB @ 800 MHz, clearly present on the BIOS screenshot
Oh I thought that the hardisk
Yeah I saw that, confused by what they meant
Was there just a single RAM stick?
Yup it just a single drr3
Was there also an empty RAM slot?
...I just checked Intel's specsheet
Oh
I can not believe my eyes
It's only got one slot (that's fine)
But
Maximum supported memory though is 2__.44__ GB
So nope then...
internal screaming
Granted it laptop form 2012
I was hoping it'd support like 8
If that was the case, you could've simply grabbed some old DDR3, upgraded the RAM and had an extremely good experience
My 2009 netbook has more RAM
That's how baffling this is
It a netbook from Malaysia so...
But it is make in usa
So do you think I can do anything with this or I should just give up
The Linux Mint idea should work either way
It's just that there might be hiccups when multitasking
No problemo
