I am currently trying to switch to Nobara (a fedora based Linux distoro) after using it for a while on my laptop, but after I installed it on my desktop I noticed that my two side monitors that are plugged into my secondary gpu where connected and detected but would only show a black screen and my cursor (if I moved it to that screen) but nothing else. In addition I could also get the sound from the GPU. The driver are up to date and both gpus can use that driver version, any ideas on how to fix this?

Are you using Wayland or X11?
I believe x11 currently is there a good method to check?
loginctl show-session $(awk '/tty/ {print $1}' <(loginctl)) -p Type | awk -F= '{print $2}'
I was wrong, it is currently running wayland
Try to check if running with X11 fixes it
Would be nice to know what the GPU is in this case
Not to mention the DE too
Since Wayland implementation will differ between DEs -- since this setup failed, I'm willing to bet it's GNOME, or at least one of the GPUs is Nvidia
One is a rtx 3060, and one is a GTX 1660 ti, de is kde
How would I go about doing this? (I am still relatively new to Linux)
Nouveau or proprietary drivers?
Proprietary at the moment
Hmm
Perhaps tryyy plugging all displays into the 3060?
I'm thinking it simply doesn't like outputting through multiple GPUs, though I have no idea why the cursor would show up in that case...
Yeah.... And windows will go to them, I just can't see them, I can manipulate and interact with them, just can't see them
I will try that when I get home today
Ah, I see
Soo yeah, it doesn't like outputting over 2 GPUs
Basically, the 3060 is running the Wayland compositor, but it refuses to tell the 1660 what it composites
The cursor is somewhat above that (Mystery × Magic, I guess), so that renders right before output
Hmmm okay, would switching to X11 potentially fix this?
Potentially yes
But Wayland is the one with all the goodies nowadays
Yeah.....
?
On the login screen, find a button that allows you to switch
...that is, if Nobara even ships X11
I don't think it does.....
As I don't see one
Yeah no, Nobara 41 and higher do not ship with x11 packages
Hm I think then for when I run Linux I will either have to plug all 3 into the 3060 or just use one display
Thank you for your help!
Yup, no problem

rocky linux , linux mint have same exact issue
this is NVIDIA controlling Who gets a NEW Blackwell gpu
insane that there is no standard display control panel for your 10000's of nvidia gpus?
I call fowl play by Nvidia
MONOPOLY is a sick game
There is one user I know who claims that he has no issues running a different distro for nvidia gpus
