Slow WiFi

I have a desktop in my room and on speed test it get like 40 download 50 upload and 14 ping. My brother did speed test with his laptop in my room and got 200 download 150 upload and 18 ping. With Ethernet he got 360 download 250 upload and 17 ping. I was just curious why he got so much more with the same WiFi in the same spot and if I got Ethernet what would my speeds look like?

asuming your pc is form last 10 years the ethenet shoud do 1Gbit/s if your mobem can

i get on avg 0ms ping with with ethernet and its very constiant where wifi avg not bad just with very bad spikes

Also when I play Fortnite it will say on I’m 0 ping in games but it’s crazy laggy and feels like 100

open cmd run ping -n 100 {what ever your mobem IP is}

How do I figure out the modem ip?

try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1

or type ipconfig into cmd and its the defalt gateway

Most of the were like 3 but the once it jumped to 70 and another jumped to 30

avg is 3ms but max is more then 20x that

me on ethenet i get 20 as max and only 2 others over 3ms
