#$1000 USD PC setup

What games do you want to play? do you have peripherals? monitor/keyboard/mouse, and do you know what your target framerate is?
Sorry for replaying a week later since I thought this post would be ignored. Anyways, I have a fifine microphone and a Intel Core i7 which an Nvidia RTX 4060 pc. I'm planning to be a Geometry Dash streamer and recorder
Also I aim at 60 fps (which I have already) however I'm aiming to stream at 1080p full quality.
What you already own should be capable enough already
Which i7
i7-14700F
u can run geometry dash on a i3 and a gt 710, i think the i7 and a 4060 will be fine
Hmm sure, but the desktop I got was straight from Costco and not built, is that fine?
THIRTY-TWO ram
Yeah that is totally fine
Is streaming in Twitch or Youtube better
Idk to much about it, but probably Twitch
if ur just starting out then i'd say twitch
Sure but what should be the settings to not get hit by compression
no idea
I uploaded videos but the quality isn’t very good due to the compression YouTube offers
I tried getting help but wouldn’t budge
You're always going to have compression
So you already have a computer with i7 and RTX 4060 but looking to upgrade? that's a very different question than building from scratch. I would upgrade what you already have because you are not getting much more performance than that for 1000.
if u really want an upgrade maybe look at something like a 7900xtx, don't know how much it costs where u are but it's proably the best fore the money
I agree with this 👆
Or just don't upgrade at all? you want to stream geometry dash at 1080p? what? you can do that on your current PC no problem ... Upgrading will not help you.
You can almost do that fine on a 10 year old laptop with integrated graphics.
I say almost because such a computer might not even support modern OBS
yeah, tbh just save the $1000
Ah I see your problem 👀
This is not related to your computer.
You can DM me if you want help with this. I have a lot of experience with video compression / YouTube.
The jist of it is that YouTube's bitrate for 1080p is pretty low, so you need to make sure you upload it with the correct video codec and bitrate to begin with to get the best chances ...
Or even upscale to 4k before uploading, because YouTube bitrate for 1080p content is never great ...
And for livestream you want to have as high of a bitrate as the platform allows, And use NVENC encoder for best quality.
But I've seen 1080p videos record and looks good still
I'm just probably doin something wrong
But 4060 has NCENC, no? ...
Also, you can get great quality with any encoder. The benefit Nvidia has is good quality with low GPU usage & low bitrate... But you can match the quality even on AMD by cranking up quality settings and let your computer sweat a little.
he would run games in ultra 1080p
without optimizations
and if he stream + record in h265 he must have a good gpu
He’s recording and streaming geometry dash… it’s a 2D game. I don’t see upgrading gpu being relevant.
I am well aware recording and streaming requires more from your hardware, but his settings are whack if quality is bad 🙃
Another part of the equation is Twitch, they give lower quality to new streamers than their partners
"play only geometry dash for 10years"
That’s not what I’m saying 😂 OP is asking for help because they are having quality issues. Upgrading GPU will not help. I am trying to help now, not future problems
he build for first time
No. Read the rest of the thread.
im too lazy to do this sorry
No worries :) but TLDR he already has a PC with RTX 4060 and has had quality issues with recordings / stream and wonders what to upgrade / how to build a better pc.
Tbf there's stuff where there's a lot of objects
I'm guessing most gd levels use cpu more than gpu
That taxes CPU not GPU
But I heard that a good GPU helps
Jus said that
Yeah sorry I wrote it at the same time :D
We good 👍
Anyways
Yeah it's mostly gonna be CPU based
But I saw a post saying that upgrading from a GTX 970 to a 3060 helped their performance
Also 60fps target is nothing for GD
Yeah no you wanna go for 240 to 360
Preferably on levels like white space
Or just anything that has a crazy object count
OP might mean they play on 360 but stream at 60, but that was not specified 🤷♂️ in that case GPU upgrade might be of interest. Also depends on resolution
In the end the cpu matters more than the gpu
Oh my god I forgot about the streaming
4060 shouldn't be too bad tho
Assuming their on 1080p
Yeah... Too many variables to give a good recommendation tbh :D I just need to understand their issue fully, and what they want to achieve
@devout sage you need a 9950x3d when it comes out and an rtx 5090, sorry for being the one to tell you
Maybe then you can finally run retray 👍
I actually recommend getting two computers with these specs. One just for streaming. and elgato capture card... 5090 is not enough to run the game and deliver the stream :/
Target FPS is 1000 at 16k res btw
Make sure to use threadripper… the dude wants to stream!
7995WX THREADRIPPER PRO for $10000
ASUS PRO WS WRX90E-SAGE SE CEB WORKSTATION $1300
2 TB Nemix DDR5 5600MHz for $25000
As much storage as you can fit
Make sure the nvme drives are gen 5
And the satas and hard drives are b I g
not even 6000mhz !
and it's not enough to run google chrome
2TB haha
Yes
I wonder if you can fit 3 if you only use FE
But all I need is to record in 1080p with good quality without YoTube killing it
Sugarkitty said he know everything about YouTube compression so he can help me
I kinda doubt my PC specs determine how I can record
Sugar
was a cute nickname. I'd be happy to help though if you send your render / OBS settings, and show me a visual example of the current quality and what you try to achieve.
Lmao, I misread your nickname but I like it still
I had school n' stuff which is why it was almost a week for you to help me.
I'm ready Sugarkitty
Do not disturb 😐
Ready when you are @pearl imp
I was sleeping bro XD have some patience
