Hello everyone, happy holidays!

My system has been starting to show it's age lately ever since I made the switch to 1440p, so I figured it's probably time to upgrade.
My budget for the upgrade is around 700 CAD + whatever I can get for the parts I upgraded from. The main focus is gaming, but I also sometimes use stuff like photoshop, fl studio, premiere pro, and other programs. The only thing I'm unwilling to upgrade is my case and psu, I just upgraded those during the summer.

Some games I plan on playing now and in the future:

Red Dead Redemption 2
Helldivers 2
Cyberpunk 2077 + Phantom Liberty
Beat Saber
Fortnite
American Truck Simulator
Mafia: The Old Country
Black Myth Wukong
Doom Dark Ages (maybe)

NOTE: The Z73 I think has a dying pump (it's loud) - I can probably get away with keeping it but figured I should note that.

I know new releases are like a month away and I'm willing to wait till then. I'm also willing to buy used or off aliexpress if need be.

for 1440p, the only thing you would need to upgrade is your gpu.

if you want you could get another kit of the same ram just to have 32gb but thats optional.

the the gpu at $700 you could get a used 3090, or a 7900xt. people will tell you the cpu is "bottlenecking" but at 1440p high or ultra it will be fine.

you could also get a 12gb 4070 or a 6950xt if you see it go on sale.

the 7900xt is a bit of a splurge but i think its worth it

To be fair, gpus will again have that rise in price if the 40 series go out of stock again and over here where I am, I am starting to see them go out of stock slowly but surely, and also there was a leak for 50 series cards

So those might be an explanation why a 3090 may rise in price

But usually you can get good stuff if you buy them 2nd hand

I haven't really kept up with gpu leaks, I just know about the whole 8gb still on the rtx 5060 or whatever.

you could sell the other parts and just keep the gpu
