Those beep codes are the computer trying to tell you what's wrong. If this is a pre-built system, the manufacturer should have a list of the beep codes in the documentation for the model of computer. If this is a custom built system, your motherboard user manual should have diagnostic information that talks about the beep codes.
i have a hp prebuilt, and it says ram or gpu failure depending where you look, but i’ve tried reseating both ram sticks and 2 gpus?
Try only one ram stick. Try replacing the ram with known good working ram.
tried both in one stick, but i don’t have a extra pair of ram laying around, i just find it weird that both would fail from just changing the gpu out.
Oh phooey I missed your GPU swap bitty. What GPU did you put in the system? (Exact make and model.)
And what is the exact model of HP prebuilt you have?
Tg01 1020. 1650 taken out, put a msi rtx 4060 black 8gb.
but either gpu in, it still has the same beep code
Ah kk so it's unlikely to be the new GPU or lack of enough wattage from the PSU then.
idk what else it could be
i’d be shocked if both ram sticks failed after a simple gpu swap tho
Same. RAM rarely goes bad. What are your specs? Or throw me the HP Serial Number (S/N) from the sticker on the rear or side of the computer and I'll look them up on HP's website. (They won't give me squat from the model number alone. Thanks HP - so helpful.)

ong hp support is a literal brick wall
😭
never had a worse experience then trying hp support for an hour
There is a reason I've wayned away from recommending HP these days. If one needs a pre-built desktop computer, I only recommend Dell / Lenovo. They're not perfect either, but at least don't make it difficult to get system specifications.
i bought mine when everything was insanely expensive $800 for a 1650 and a 10th gen i5…
my wallet still feels ripped off too this very day
Crap. Welp, my suggestion of trying the motherboard's integrated graphics is right out - you have an "F" series Intel CPU without on-board graphics.
lmao, yeah i’ve had that suggestion a few times
Aside from trying different RAM sticks (if you had them available), the only thing I can think of here is quintuple checking that everything you moved around is seated fully in its sockets.
Sounds silly, but I've once had someone who thought they were plugging their RAM in fully, only to find out that one end of the RAM slots were extra "stiff" and they hadn'e pushed hard enough.
If swapping RAM / re-seating the GPU (try both again) don't get you going, something has indeed failed.
both of the ram things click when i put them in, but maybe i’m still doing it wrong?
i think i’ve reseated my ram and gpu 20 times today, im either really dumb or something is broken
so let’s say i’ve had failure, i was thinking of recasing it anyways (mobo and everything) could you help me with a decently cheap parts list, gpu, ssd, cpu excluded.
Nah if they're clicking (on both ends of each stick), that should be fine.
I mean, I wouldn't waste time re-casing it until you determine the problem... or at least, I wouldn't plan a build around a potentially broken system. But, if you must, #1106613567966429224 awaits...
