It's either corrupted or there are weird leftover partitions

i’ve heard of some drives having a “read only” physical switch, may want to look at it and see. if not, go to CMD > diskpart > list disk > sel disk [] > clean

yeeeep. if that doesn’t work then cmd will

What is the exact make and model of USB drive? Link to an online store where you purchased it / it's available, if you like.

So, quick recap:

  1. When you plug any drive into any USB port...
  2. ...the drive is read-only for your user profile...
  3. ...and the drive works properly on other computers
    Is that right?

# gaunt ginkgo yes

Okay, try creating a new local user profile (via Settings → Users) and see if the drives work from there

I think I messed up big time

#

@merry heron

#

It says I need to format it before I can use it but

#

It won't let me format it

#

How do I get that

#

What do u want to do with this drive pop up

#

I think I figured it out

I selected the view files option now it's not letting me edit

#

But I think if I select the first one

#

Then I can edit

#

Files

#

Atleast in my external ssd
