#Confused on cables

I’m going to assume I don’t need them
I’m not 100% certain, But I believe this looks like a 4-pin PWM fan connector with a guide or blocker on the 3rd pin. The plastic guide is a design feature that helps align the connector properly to prevent incorrect insertion.
Here’s a breakdown:
• 4-pin design: Typically used for PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) fans, which allow the motherboard or controller to adjust fan speeds.
• Plastic on the 3rd pin: This serves as a key or restriction to ensure it only connects to compatible headers, preventing misalignment.
Where to connect it:
1. Look for a 4-pin fan header on your motherboard.
• Common labels: CPU_FAN, CHA_FAN, or SYS_FAN.
2. It will also work on a 3-pin fan header (backward compatible), but PWM functionality will be limited to DC control.
Depending on whether the system has a GPU or if you need more than you have installed.
Don’t you just love getting thrown someone else project.
Someone must have been good. That’s a fantastic Gift. It’s great for completing tasks at work or school, as well as for relaxing and entertainment.
It turns on and everything good but now my ssd isn’t showing up
I tried taking it out and putting it back in but it didn’t do anything
I’m unsure of how to add flair to a post on mobile
I might have missed a plug but I’m not sure what it would look like if it had one
This is a floppy drive cable. It’s like molex but smaller
You will need it if your gpu (graphics card) has auxiliary power. What I’d recommend for a video is “how to build a pc, the last guide you’ll ever need (2024 update)”. It has timestamps for the corresponding parts of building a computer.
I plugged it in I’m just having trouble with my ssd now
😭
It’s not showing up on my bios
What trouble? What kind of ssd is it
Let me get the link
It’s in place and no pins are showing but it’s not showing up
What motherboard do you have
Btw sata m.2 drives suck for price to performance
It’s a budget pc and I asked this server about the parts list before and everyone said it looked fine but I can’t get another now
So it’ll have to do
What slot did you put it in? The top slot does not support sata m.2’s
Bottom right
Nope. M.2 drives have data and power through the board
You just need to screw it down with the standoff and mounting screw
Okay awesome
Yup
The good news with this is you can add a faster nvme m.2 drive to the top slot in the future if more storage is required
Let me see if it works
Yay!! It does
Amazing service 10/10 blown away down the stairs fast response #rizz thank you
It’s giving me this error when I try to install windows
And I know I have all the files because I downloaded it and followed all instructions from the windows stuff
What ssd should I get to fill the first slot?
What should I get that’s better
Best I can say is retry the usb creation
What ssd
Get ready to game even faster with the WD_BLACK SN770 NVMe SSD. Zoom past load times and get into the action now with a purpose-built gaming drive that boasts up to 40% faster performance and up to 20% more power efficiency at maximum speed over the previous generation(3) (1TB model), plus a PCIe...
god thats a long link
yeah i should be able to figure everything out now lol
