#Upgrading MoBo

why you need new board?
so RBG/you want to MIX ram
wait your current board can run 192GB of ram
i checked the manual it says it’ll only run 32 gb
and no, i have 4 sticks of corsair vengeance but when i ran all 4 it wasn’t working
Per slot
Which is also incorrect
It should be 48 per slot
Make sure to turn on XMP in bios or do some research rather than assume that it just doesn’t work
4 sticks is typically worse than 2 but on rare cases it’s cheaper
You what you said you do and what you plan on doing, dual channel 32gb is perfectly fine and you won’t need any more unless you start editing
so your problem is mixing ram
not the mobo
mixing ram isnt a problem, it only makes it run at the stick with the lowest speed, but you see all the capacity. mixing ram isnt a bad thing, just try to get fast sticks in general
ok your dont understand how overclocking ram works
eg i run 4x16GB can get 5600 stable where with just 2x16GB 6200 stable was commen on older AGESA updata
so ddr5 4800?
if one of the sticks is rated to 4800 yeah
but if the lowest stick is like 5800 then theyll all do that even if all the others are 6400 or something really high
it doesnt do default speed it does lowest xmp speed when xmp is enabled
so your saying if i buy 2 8200 kits they going to run fine togther
make sure they are the same voltage and CLs, but otherwise yes
they will run at 8200 if those apply
ddr5 just the fact your running 2dpc it offen shits its self
different cl will be more taxing on your cpu but its still fine
not saying its a good idea
?
how dose tcl afect load on imc
im just saying its not as bad as people say it is
memory controller
yes imc
different timings and capacity to work with
but timings dont afect stable clock if limited by imc
ur ram has data that ur cpu might need soon.
if the CLs are different its more difficult for ur CPU to manage how to get the data most efficiently/most quickly
like if one is fast one is slow its a lot for the memory controller to work with
tcl dont matte
exacly
your saying i can run timing not the same on each stick?
u can run it, u just lose like half a % of ur CPu performance
so its really not that bad
i shouldnt have said that along with voltage, bc voltage HAS to be the same
i have not used cpu where you can set difrent timigns per stick
ddr5 you can set per dimm voltage if mobo suports
idk how stable that is with different voltage kits, it might be fine, it might mean ur pc wont even turn on. maybe someone here knows
all i going to say mixing ram is a pain but not end of world just with many ddr5 its just dont going to work at xmp
if its same voltage its not even a pain
just set 1.5V and let it be
its really just a very very minor performance hit
i hope that works, im just not sure
but it might work
h16a can take it
i would confirm that before buying tho
if your running the same mhz/timings it be faster
if ur runnign same MT/s + CLs it will just be the same
thats not even mixing at that point anymore
its not they simple
tcl is right at the bottom of list of timings that afect performance
what cpu/ram you got
5700x3d 32x2gb 3600 CL 18
i wonder how much faster trrds 4 trrdl 4 or 6 depends on your ram tfaw 16 will be + tunned trfc depends on IC
my system is complete overkill anyway, will be a long time until i bother with any overclocking anyway
that stement is very bad in terms of ROI
?
why wait to OC if on the table since 20% gains in games from today to lets say 5 year vs 4 years you get 20% gains your upgrade on the 5 year same time in setting up OC but your having gains for way less time ROI retern on invement
most of the gains are in the lows
its very noticale in many games i play even when getting 600 fps avg
i didnt even notice going from 60 hz to 180 hz unless i had the ufo test active but never in gaming
ppl are different
so can we get back to helping OP?
there problem was did not read maunal and was not having luck with ram oc
