#computer not allowing me to open temp folder, even on net user admin

C:\Windows\Temp is a normally protected system folder - you're not meant to open it. Why do you want to anyway?
to clear it for more storage space, im watching a tutorial and he just opens it up easily so i thought im supposed to do that, because theres a bunch of junk in it
Use Disk Cleanup.
ok
Um. Those are completely different folders? the first one has a paltry 10 MB inside. Not even worth touching compared to the larger second one...
why can this program view it, but i cant
A great question for the program's developers. For all we know, this program is malware. (Most "Disk Cleanup" and other "system tuneup" style utilities are.)
fr?
the install wizard was a exe
that was sketchy
ill check it with virustotal
Being an EXE doesn't mean anything. Microsoft Office setup is an EXE... Anywho, what is the name of this program?
fortect
it looks real
Lots of things on the internet look real. Anywho, while it may not be malicious, most of the time these types of programs are designed to convince people to pay up to "fix" things that may or may not need fixing.
yea it is tryna get me to pay like 20 bucks a month
i just used free trial
now that i dont need it how do i completely erase it off my system?
Cleaning up "2.20GB" of "junk files" will NOT make your PC run better... unless you've got like, a 64GB disk with only 1GB free space. I would advise uninstalling the program. https://www.fortect.com/products/uninstall-instructions/
along with malwarebytes that keeps giving me pop ups
Malwarebytes is good software, but also has both a free and paid version. Free is good for manual scans, but you need Premium if you want it to proactively catch things on-the-fly.
ok, is there a way to turn off pop ups
No idea. I have Malwarebyte Premium lifetime license keys from way back when they still sold lifetime.

thanks for the help
Most welcome! Enjoy your (presumably new?) computer, and feel free to peruse the Discord Guild or ask for additional #1027757333117415424 help in, uh, well, the Tech Support forum area. 🙂
