For the same I can get what's better I do video editing and gaming a lot on the same system at 1440p using a arc a750 right now but I'm upgrading to a higher end arc or amd 8000 or Nvidia 5000 when they come out

#

Or that

#

Basically there 3 different platforms for the same price what is the best

#

Actually 4

#

Btw this is in usd

7900X or 14700K would both be strong for video editing and gaming

#

14700K maybe a little stronger in both? But check some benchmarks to make sure

#

9700X is no slouch either

#

Core Ultra 5, don’t even bother

Yep. I hope Intel sorts their socket lifespan issues out

I just made the jump to ryzen and I'm pretty happy with it. Personally, I'd go with the longer life platform in the form of AMD since they've promised multi generation support for the AM5.

#

Then if you want more performance in a couple years you could get away with just upgrading your CPU rather than your whole system.

I have an 850w psu

#

So power is no problem

#

So it's between r7 9700x and r9 7900x

#

Ik the 7900x on paper is better but does the new architecture on amd 9000 make up for it

somber kelp
#

For gaming probably, for workstation I’m not sure. The 7900X has a pretty sizable core/thread advantage

#

And since the 9700X got a TDP bump post launch most benchmarks aren’t representative of the extra performance

somber kelp
#

It’s nothing crazy, only like 13% best case in synthetic benchmarks. Tom’s Hardware said there was basically no difference in gaming

#

The 7900x does have double L3 cache

#

I'll have to watch benchmarks

#

As both are literally the same price

#

The 7900x itself is more expensive but mobo is cheaper

#

Will my 240mm aio cool the 7900x

#

What do you think about reviewed motherboards

#

It is a nice one with 2 USB c

#

Refurbed boards are usually fine (my current rig has one) but a lot of people seem to have issues with whoever’s doing the refurb on this board

And I can return it if it's not working right

This is probably better

For reviews

Or this

#

The B650 one is the one I’d go with

#

The VRMs could be different but otherwise than that the boards look almost the same
