pc won’t stay on!

i’ve tried the basics of replugging everything and swapping ram sticks but zero luck

Has it powered on before or is this a new build? Also any flashing lights or an error code display?

fresh build and only turns on for the time shown in the video

no beeps, only orange like before immediately shutting back off

Look through your motherboard manual for troubleshooting. It might mention something about that solid orange light in the top right. My thought is something board related or PSU related (which is super unhelpful). Do you have a fan plugged into your CPU header? Also how much experience do you have with building?

manual sadly only mentions beeps. everything was freshly bought. i do have a fan plugged into the head and this would be my 2nd build

gpu: 2070 ti
cpu: ryzen 7 7800X3D
motherboard: b650-a
psu: rm750e
ram: tforce 2x16gb

should also mention pc only turns on when power is freshly supplied, power button does nothing

So it sounds like power supply is tripping for some reason. Check your PSU connections to make sure they’re all in the right place and fully seated.

Rather than just pushing on all of the connections, I would suggest fully disconnecting the connection and then reseating and making sure there isn’t any gap left between the base of the connector and the housing.

i just tried another psu and it was the exact same result so i know that’s not the issue

u were right! not only was the psu at fault but the power button on the case was shorted as well
