So basically what you have here is the motherboard saying that it detected a change in hardware or your CMOS was cleared. You don't really have to do anything unless you were running an overclock on your CPU and maybe had memory timing like XMP or EXPO enabled. If you haven't messed with your bios much you can just hit F2 to load the defaults and everything should be fine.

#

Do i have to replace the cmos?

tame kiln
#

no

#

just press F2 if you dont know how to work bios

dark grove
#

I don’t

tame kiln
#

ok yea just press F2 for now

#

If it's an old computer there is a tiny battery on the motherboard you could replace but it won't matter too much if you don't in your specific case

Lately when I’ve been playing games sometimes my pc will just randomly go black and there’s buzzing noise in my headphones and then restart

tame kiln
#

oh

#

how old is your pc?

#

also do you know the specs?

dark grove
#

I bought it on fb marketplace in April 5600g 7800xt 32 gb 3600

tame kiln
#

also 5600g and 7800 xt is a mad bottleneck

verbal badge
#

100%

tame kiln
#

whoever built that pc is goofy

dark grove
#

It was $700

tame kiln
#

ok thats a good deal

#

but if you ever upgrade, do the cpu first

dark grove
#

Yeah

verbal badge
#

the 5600g is AM4 correct?

dark grove
#

That’s what I was thinking when I bought it

tame kiln
#

yea

dark grove
#

Yeah

tame kiln
#

i just got a 5900x not long ago, works perfect with my rx 6600

dark grove
#

U like juice wrld?

tame kiln
#

yes

#

20% isnt as bad as i thought

dark grove
#

U see him in Fortnite?

tame kiln
#

i had to watch a friends stream for it

#

but i have both skins

dark grove
#

U know why my pc could be restarting like that tho?

tame kiln
#

🙏

dark grove
tame kiln
#

reinstalling audio drivers

dark grove
#

Some times when it crashes my screen goes blue too

tame kiln
#

mmm

#

BSoD

dark grove
#

Yeah

tame kiln
#

@verbal badge would you know what could be causing blue screen

verbal badge
#

Honestly it could be a number of things. When I had blue screens it was often due to memory issues.

tame kiln
#

yea was same here when i still had ddr3 2x2gb

#

patriot ram my beloved

verbal badge
#

I had issues with a Gskill 3200mhz 32gb

tame kiln
#

damn

#

only ddr4 ram i had issues with was Silicon Power

dark grove
#

I have Corsair

verbal badge
#

It was two kits put together but something happened to the old dimms and they ended up failing the windows memory test

dark grove
#

I just reseated some cords to try and fix the restarting

tame kiln
#

i see

dark grove
#

And I turned it back on and that was there

tame kiln
#

it would see that as fully changing the part cos when the psu is still getting power it powers the parts slightly

verbal badge
#

If you completely turned off the power and the CMOS battery is dead it's likely that's what caused the message

tame kiln
#

yea

#

cmos battery is kinda like a car alternator

#

well car battery i should say

verbal badge
#

Yeah i agree with that

tame kiln
#

gets charge while the pc is active

#

if left unpowered for a while itll be dead

verbal badge
#

I mean those tiny coin cells only last for so long so it wouldn't surprise me

tame kiln
#

yea

#

my motherboard was used and ive had it for 4 years now

#

no issues with cmos bat so far

#

but yea i mean the cmos message is nothing to worry about

#

the restarting cos be multiple things, recently when i upgraded my cpu, it was overheating and would hit its max of 95c and restart

#

until i undervolted and boosted the clock, had much better temps since

#

went from 80-90c while gaming to like a max of 70c

#

#

#

previously if i was on cyberpunk itd be 80+

verbal badge
#

I mean I can't say much about CM's products but I personally don't trust them too much

#

If you have a program that tells you the liquid temp I would check that and see if the the AIO that can't keep up or if it's something else
