So I bought a gaming laptop a year and a half ago, and I started to use zoom for online classes recently but for some reason the webcam won’t work. I checked windows settings as well as device manager and it doesn’t seem to list a camera at all. As if a webcam was never built into the unit in the first place, but I know it has one.

maybe not connected as in cables got knocked loose??
Find the hardware kill switch and enable it
Is that a keyboard shortcut?
It's probably one of the F-keys
Sometimes a literal switch next to the webcam (e.g. Framework)
Sometimes under the laptop or elsewhere (e.g. old Acer Aspire or HP ProBooks)
Tho I'm assuming yours is an MSI?
It should be F4 via Fn (the logo of a circle with a neck, slashed across)
Yeah I can try that out, cause when I try to look at it on device manager, it was hidden
I suppose that’s what that function key does
Yeah mine is an MSI
Yup! MSI literally disconnects the webcam
The F4 key disables the track pad
It’s actually F6
I didn’t even realize that it was disabled when I bought it
Thank you
No problemo
I can finally do my online classes properly
Kinda jealous ngl
Why is that
I have to show up in person to all of mine
