Hi,

I currently rock a pc with these specifications:
3060 ti
i5 9600k
16 gb ddr4 ram with 3600 mhz

I want to upgrade it since it’s having a hard time with games like CoD.

I was contemplating to upgrade it over 2 times, the cpu, motherboard and ram first. Then gpu.

I was looking at this hardware:
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X/7600
Motherboard: MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi
Ram: Kingston Fury 2 x 8 DDR5 5600 mhz

GPU: 4070/4080 or the new gpu’s by NVIDIA depending on the price.

What do you guys think?

also at what resolution are you playing if ur playing on 1080p the 4080 is complete overkill

Do you prefer nvidia or AMD

#

7900 GRE is really good for price performance

eternal latch
#

I dont really care, as long as it works and provides good performance.

#

Might look into that then

What country do you live in

#

7900 GRE has great price in the USA but its a bit more expensive in the EU

Denmark

#

Which NVIDIA card is the 7900 GRE equivalent to?

#

Then I can look up the price differences.

4070 ti

eternal latch

The 7900 GRE costs 635 USD in Denmark

#

The 4070 ti costs 920 USD in Denmark

dusty orchid
#

7800XT might be a little better in means of price to performance in denmark

eternal latch
#

The 7800XT costs 565 USD in Denmark

dusty orchid
#

Ohh then its ab the same price to performance

eternal latch
#

Then I should just go for the 7900 GRE?

#

I recommend watching some comparison videos between high end cards and then pick the one that suits you best

novel karma

the 4070 super should be quite a bit cheaper

dusty orchid
#

4070 super is more expensive than the gre

Yh makes sens

since tcl 40 beats tcl 28

dusty orchid
#

its like 15-20% faster ram speed

still raft
#

i have tested incressing tcl 60% it was less then 1% change

#

CmdrSoyo tested it going from 14 to 26 is only 1% change i tested it with a few benchmarks/games that care about latincy going form 8 to 14 was only 1.2% but with my margin larger then that idk how much i trust my numbers

buildzoid had ddr5 6200 28-37-37-28 get beat by 40-40-40-84

#

well i mean the better question is what cpu?

#

memory controllers have differences

hot plume
#

different controllers have different sweet spots

#

for amd 7000/9000 cpus target is highest in 1:1 u/m or 3:3:2 M/U/F

#

or maybe 2:1:1
