It's been an issue for me to get black screens and restarts since I got my Rx 5700 XT but I was running a 500 watt PSU so I power-limited it on my old pc, when I started building my new AM4 build I brought the same Rx 5700 XT and now It needs to be power limited more and with full power draw the power supply makes a high pitch whine. this Am4 build has a 750-watt PSU from Corsair and next month I plan to get a new PSU. even with that, I don't know if my GPU will make it alive since it's been at +110c on the hot spot, and repasting never fixed it. but I want to know if I'm right to think the power supply is dying as well as my GPU

well the high pitch whine is coil whine, every electrical device has it, and in your case the gpu's draw is triggering it, but no ithe psu is not dying
as for the gpu, yes the heat is a bit of an issue, the black screening could be due to that and drivers tbh
what paste was used when repasting it to begin with, also was the heatsink on the gpu properly tightened down in the process
Yes it was tighten properly
I've put 3 gpus in it and the same problem
drivers all up to date, including chipset?
Yep
The thing is I was using a old pc with more power draw then the psu could handle so I could understand the powerlimiting
but with the psu being replaced and a new build it doesnt make sense
and it having to be power limited more then before
and its very random on black screens and restarts
Also I have new ram from the older pc i had with the same problem with the black screen and restarts
Oh also I thought it was the PSU over an error in the event viewer that was kernel power errors. And the restarts where happaning at a time of idle and in sleep mode
