Drivers fully updated?
also bios and other required drivers
Installed adrenaline and it said everything was up to date
Is it all games or only 1 particular game?
does it happen often or just once every couple of days or something?
It just started happening today
Ive got this pc for about 4 days now
30mins ago
search for event viewer and go half an hour ago and see if theres any major event like an error
Where would event viewer be?
press the windows logo and lookup event viewer
oh sorry
take a screenshot please I'm currently not on windows
so I cant guide you without screenshots
alright now go half an our ago to the time it happened and see if theres any events called "error"
like the one on that photo
usually a vga light means either a bad gpu or bad mobo and since its a new pc its most likely one of those
so it should be pretty easy to replace
you should be able to return it
you got it less than a week ago no?
Ye
That was only error i found
press it and send another photo
yeah its not that
what cpu do you have?
Amd 7 3700x
is the pc new or just the gpu?
but did you upgrade it? did you buy the used gpu to use in your already existing pc?
and this only happened once right?
This happened today 3 times total
The pc is brand new
I used used parts like gpu and cpu
you could try to remove the gpu and put it back in, maybe it has a bad connection or something
pc turned off btw
Hahaha dont want to get electrocuted 😭
Should i wait untill that error happens again?
Since for 4 days everything was fine
i mean if it has happened 3 or 4 times it will most likely happen again but it wont hurt waiting until it happens again
Until now
yeah, just wait then no harm in doing that
ah
You could've also loosened the gpu while placing it
you wont get electrocuted, just make sure to shut down the computer and turn the switch on the psu to the off position to be 100% sure its off
What would happen if i dont do that?
dont do what part?
not sure
its just to be safe
you could short something maybe? not sure
not really my area of expertise
alright
Btw warnings have nothing to with that?
Or could it be cuz of 1 screw
I havent properly screwed it
It went sideways somehow on pc case
what does the screw screw in?
if it were a software problem like amd drivers crashing it would've shown
the place where hdmi cable part entrance sticks out
yeah, you should put all screws in their designated place
they are in designated place but one is like sideways cuz of not enough space for my fingers to fit in to place it
can you send a photo?
alright yeah looks fine, if it happens again try reseeting the gpu
otherwise its most likely a faulty gpu or the slot on the mobo is damaged
i had a problem with mobo sent it back to the company
and they have repaired it
And gpu performance wise has no other issues or anything like that
Highest temp i had was 50
And usage was like 40-60% while playing ark
soo far after loosening vertical gpu holder the error didnt come up back yet
alright, thats good
probably a loose connection or something
Ive just run
stress test on it for 10 mins straight
and nothing happens
gpu fans run nicely
gpu temp stays at 60 degrees under stress
and apperently ive read disabling secure boot can cause that, would that be true?
i have no clue
does ur CPU support integrated graphics
it is updated
get the specific GPU u have on nvidia or amd's website, and just look for the latest driver
check the past messages
have u tried downgrading a few versions?
maybe a driver is faulty
has OP also checked if the GPU is plugged in right
im not the op but yeah that could be it
i've told him to reseat the gpu but he said he didn't want to get electricuted
is it a pre built
here
horrible idea. just fix your computer
oh I dont think its the drivers because he didnt get any error in event viewer
so its either a bad gpu which he said it was second hand or the gpu is not correctly seated
prolly not correctly seated
I think its the gpu thats not seated correctly because he said it started happening after he put a thing under it so it doesnt sag
forgot the name
ye he def pushed it out of the PCIE's
he dont gotta worry about getting electrocuted
he should first turn off his PC
make sure that windows is not in "fast boot" mode
and then just slightly nudge the GPU down maybe
then why he scared
Okay so heres an update
Ive reseated gpu
The version was updated etc.
Then i just went in bios and turned on secure boot
The issue hasnt been happening at all so far
Have done stress test as well
Gpu worked perfectly fine just as well the fans
The highest temp it reached was 80 degrees during that stress test and I didnt get a single issue
So i think the issue itself wasnt in gpu
But most likely in secure boot itself
The last thing ive done was change those settings
And that was the point it stopped happening again
