I’ve been out of the pc loop for years now & need some tips. I’m looking to build the best pc for around $1200 & here’s what I got.

P.S : I purchased a 7600x from aliexpress for $161 & im about to purchase the gpu BUT should I wait till Black Friday/Cyber Monday to purchase or get a used one on Facebook marketplace for $75-$100 msrp.

Thanks for the help everyone

I haven't seen much silicon power stuff

#

The ram is less of an issue, but storage is a bit problematic

#

They don't have a good reputation

glad cloud
# untold vault The storage is sketchy
Tom's Hardware

Silicon Power delivers again with a good midrange SSD.

I have heard some bad things about them, with storage it's better to be safe than sorry

the ram is also fine, its most likely using some hynix a or m die given the timings

It's worth spending more on a commonly know brand IMO

#

I'll look at the warranty but still

They've got a 5 year warranty

#

Pretty decent

990 pro is also 5 years

I’m all for changing the ram especially for something that’s the best bang for the buck but not sure about silicone power. Never heard of it

glad cloud

just get the silicon power, they make good stuff

The ram is fine

i could name a bunch of terrible shit samsung does

The team group storage I’ll stick to honestly

You say it's fine, I've just heard bad stuff about the brand. Still if you say it's fine you're probably right.

I've heard bad things about them and I'm a technician

ive heard bad things about samsung 🤷‍♂️

Fair enough

#

But they're a bigger well know brand with a fairly good reputation

#

And also the issues with the latest Samsung SSDs have been fixed

What country are you in? I could whip you up a list.

We can do that. Do you like the AIO because of that circular block look, or would you be fine with a cheaper alternative like the Frozen Prism/Aqua Elite?

Honestly I liked it because it was 3 fans & rgb lol. I’m perfectly fine with cheaper alternatives

Here's a list for a tad bit under $1200. For your question on silicon power's reputation, it's... fine? They've been known to swap around and/or downgrade components on their SSDs for their other SKUs like the UD90 or XS70, but it's not uncommon to see, as a lot of SSD companies do that with their products to cut costs. The US75 as far as known information goes is a good drive with good internals, so far.

Their RAM is also fine as solo says. It's fairly consistent in all brands to use similar quality for the actual board and other components. The main difference is what actual RAM chip they use.

xs70 swap was devastating

#

such a good pick when it was good

#

m482 is a solid deal rn, may have to pick one up

If you do decide to wait, feel free to come back and ask for an updated list, I'll probably be out helping some folks here and there.

Would a used 7900 xtx for $550 be better?

shut drift

Suspiciously low price for a used XTX. If it works, then great price indeed.

Yea it did seem very suspicious so I skipped out on it. Went ahead & got a xfx 7900 xt on Facebook marketplace for $500. Guy said,

“I am selling a brand new 7900XT graphics card, which has never been used. It was purchased from Walmart with the intent to use it, but due to commitments with school and work, I have not had the opportunity to do so.”

Wish me luck lol
