I can't see a drive detected in your screenshots, so I'd agree your drive is either not plugged in properly, or it's dead, Jim.
I’ll be checking it tonight (my girlfriends pc I built) hoping it’s just a loose ssd and not dead lmao
Hopefully just a loose connection... And not an intermittently failing drive. Ensure everything is backed up just in case.
Yeah it was sticking out a little bit
Idk how that happened tbh. Maybe during transport to my girls house it dislodged and eventually stopped
Yeah maybe it is a problem. It loaded and as soon as I downloaded something to see it crashed and did the same thing
Is there a driver I need for it or something ?
Unless you're running it in RAID mode and your motherboard requires custom RAID drivers (the windows installation would not see the drive until you provide said drivers), unlikely. What is the exact make and model of SSD? (You can link to the online store listing where you bought it if that's easier.)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
We just ordered a new one and came next day. Company diddnt even need us to send old one back and gave us a refund. Installed today and works fine now. 550mb/s on steam and everything is working fine. Tho I did not install the mobo heat sink / cover for it. Kinda diddnt want to find out if that was the cause
Would an ssd like this need that heat sink ?
They don't usually need a heatsink, but it can help. The "KingSpec" brand worries me more than whether or not it has a heatsink though... I've literally never heard of KingSpec.
Yeah there like a budget Chinese company. Good specs for the price and that list was recommended here for a £1k build. Build is so great for the price but the ssd brand just seems to suck when it comes to quality control. My girlfriend only plays games like stardew and lethal company so I’m sure it’ll do. Worst comes to worse I’ll buy her a 980 pro if this becomes dead again 😂
But Ty for the help !
