#Finally upgrading after 6 YEARS

whats your country, budget, and usecase?
Country: Israel
Budget: 5000 NIS / 1300~ USD
Usecase?
What will the computer be primarily used for.
Ie. gaming, editing, general use
Gaming
I would drop the CPU from 13th gen i7 to a 12th gen i5 and upgrade GPU to an RTX 4070 or my preference RX 7800 XT
The reason why is that 13th gen isn’t really that much of an upgrade from 12th so I would personally save some money and go with 12th gen.
For gaming. The extra cores on the i7 aren’t going to impact performance too much compared to saving an extra 100 ish dollars
Using the money saved getting a better GPU would be a better allocation of budget
I prefer the RX 7800xt as it’s generally 0 - 10% less performance in non Ray tracing applications at 2k resolution
For nearly 100$ less than a RTX 4070 super I find it hard to justify going nvidia for non ray tracing applications and a pure gaming use case
Of course if you want those god rays, dabble in programs that can use cuda cores and/or want to use Nvida specific software then you should go with them
avoid 13th and 14th gen cpus if you can, they have a bit of an internal combustion problem
?
How about instead of i7-13
I drop down to i5-13
And 512gb instead 1tb ssd
Due to the fact I can just take the ssd from my “old” pc
I would avoid 13th and 14th gen as a whole. The performance difference between 12th and 13th gen is negligible at best with overheating problem.
As for the SSD I’d only upgrade if you need more storage
If you’re fine with what you got then I wouldn’t. If you need it then get a 1TB unit.
Could just transplant it into a Corsair 2000D or the deepcool ch160 or something
What if it’s the only I can get?
Unrelated question:
should I get 12GB instead of 8GB
On my gpu if I can
What gpu
4060ti
Bad gpu
🥲
