i opened the thing and removed the battery and placed it back in. that's all i did. but one thing i had noticed was that inside the laptop there was a button that of which was directly perpendicular to some hole on the back of the laptop that had denoted what appeared to be a battery being removed from something. i only pressed that thing AFTER removing the battery and did it before turning it on.
