MSI B550-a pro is one of the best am4 boards
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HQVG3C/gigabyte-b450m-ds3h-wifi-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b450m-ds3h-wifi this also works for cheaper
Hmmmm, no vrm cooling
oh i did confuse it for the similarly named b550 counterpart
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4mjNnQ/asrock-b550-phantom-gaming-4-atx-am4-motherboard-b550-phantom-gaming-4 this board is decent at the price if you can fit full atx
atx is more capable, but most of the time matx is cheaper
it really just depends on what you're looking for
most of the time it doesnt really matter
...unless you're running 4 dimms, bc some matx boards only have 2 dimm slots
so its really up to you
well given how multi gpu is dead and sound cards / network cards aren't a thing anymore unless you're doing really specialised work it probably doesn't matter
this one's a great board too
it also does have a 1x slot that you could put an extra expansion card in if you needed to
only thing is its b450 so it's not really gonna be the best am4 board
it's not really that big of a difference
it'll hold you back if you have a 4060 ti because they only have 8 pcie lanes and most b450 boards run at pcie gen 3
but for 6600 level of performance and below or for any gpu with all 16 lanes you're all good
the rx 580 doesn't even support gen 4 anyway
it's a board that works
