HI, I have been dealing with this issue since an year or two ,we have a shared network plan the main router is a bit far away and my router is connected with an Ethernet cable from their apartment (they did the setup for the router and now whenever i try to access its webpage it goes to the main routers webpage /mine is a dlink and their Huawei ) ,its that it show connected without internet in my phone and other devices

,it take about 8ish hours to fix the prob by itself ,but i found out that this error occurs when my devices are going to Ip (192,168, 1 ,xxx)in DHCP ,this** 1 **is the problem as soon as i change it to static ip and 1 to 8 and mess with the last xxx part the issue is fixed and I'm back online, is this my routers problem or theirs idk anything .I seen that the routers webpage can be accessed after formatting but i don't know what to do after please consider helping

(I asked them about this and they don't know anything and their internet is fine)

-Thanks

Does your router have a separate ssid from the Huawei one?

You'll probably want to put your router into bridge mode and create a different network for yourself, it shouldn't be interfering that way

ok

btw how to enable this bridge mode and create a new network

hearty jackal
#

You have to lookup a tutorial for your specific router model, it's always kinda similar but not the same

primal flame
#

ok

#

thats it then right

#

i will come back later after trying it

#

and btw should i clone the macc address of the router

Ok, just for your info,
What this does is demoting your router to function as a repeater, so it doesn't assign ips the other router thinks are his.
And then you also make a new network so your devices can't talk to your neighbors (also prevents most viruses spreading through a network from e.g. an outdated iot device)
