#Delivery Optimization using massive amounts of data

Hey y’all, I checked my data usage on my pc (it is set as a metered connection) and noticed that system used over 90gb this month. The data was consistent with fallout (installed through windows store) updating, but I installed glasswire and in the span of about 30s, delivery optimization was using 400mb/s. Glasswire shows it as the host process for windows services connecting to a259.dspw65.akamai.net and downloading something via http. Norton 360 shows no threats found, Norton power eraser said no threats found, admin level and safe mode malwarebytes scans show no threats found.

#

Delivery optimization is currently told not to allow downloads from other pcs

#

Activity monitor is also showing that the downloads from Microsoft ticked up by the same amount of data that was used during the 30s

#

Is this just windows 10 being ass as usual?

#

Or is there something that my scanners aren’t showing?

Oh wow

#

windows 10 doesnt have a setting to completely turn it off

#

perhaps look into advanced options

From what I gather online I need to “break”it in the registry editor

#

I guess this is windows bizzarery

#

For how long have you had this windows install

#

It’s way overdue for a nuke imo

#

2019

#

I would consider windows 11, but updating my bios gives me the creeps

#

There’s an update for my board that sets it up for windows 11, but I bricked my friends board when we tried to enable secure boot

#

And I’d rather not have my board suffer the same fate

#

besides

#

secure boot doesnt have to be on for w11

#

it just has to be supported
