So I have two choices currently and im looking to get help deciding on it. My current build is a 2700x, b450 mother board, 32 gb 3200 mhz
and a 1070ti.

Upgrade Choice #1 5700x keep my 32gb of ram and upgrade to a 3070ti eventually.
Pros: get to stick with my current MOBO and ram so its cheaper.
Cons: even though its an upgrade its not really that much of an upgrade and i limit myself to the last generation of am4

Upgrade Choice #2 7700x/7800x 32GB 6000 Mhz 3070ti some am5 motherboard and a 800w Powersupply
Pros: Better Upgrade newer and more well rounded upgrade.
Cons: more expensive will take way longer to put together and will have to basically rebuild my computer.

Any amount of input is appreciated.

my input is

#

sell current pc

#

build a new pc

#

it make your life so much easier

#

having to sell each individual part is going to be a pain and the only thing you can really keep is your case

#

and ssd

it'll allow you to save up more for an am5 system instead as the zen 3 cpu's will easily give you another 5 or so years more use out of the system

then take everything out of the case and buy new components

#

or maybe just donate the whole pc

#

regardless you’re on a very old form factor and it would be really beneficial for you to make use of the new technology and upgrade the entire thing as a whole cause upgrading part by part isn’t possible for you anymore

I second what @tame otter said.

I'm running a 5900x/6800xt and games run great. And it will probably be able to play every game for a few more years.

and an r5 7600 performs the same as an r7 5700x3d for gaming performance, and an r5 7600x performs the same as an r7 5800x3d as well for gaming performance

#

over that you'd get a 7800x3d instead if you're just purely gaming

Yeah im definitely not just purely gaming on it so I do get the extra benefits of a 7700x or 7800x so that's why I'd get them. I definitely won't be going a ryzen 5
