Hello I am or was hosting a Minecraft server for my friends had everything working fine until yesterday when the port said it was closed. Full rebooted my modem and re did the port forward. Saw online that you need dchp and when I go to switch from reserved ip to dchp it dosent hold. When I go to my modems admin page it says my pc used to be connected via WiFi which is not true always had Ethernet. (Changed pc name to verify) xfinity app says the port is open but port checkers online say it’s closed and my freinds can no longer join. If any one has any idea about this please get ahold of me 🙏🙏
#xfinity port forward randomly stopped working

So, on what OS are you hosting the MC server? And what you referred to as DCHP is actually DHCP, which stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, which automatically assigns an internal IP address to new clients and sometimes re-assigns IPs, under certain circumstances. When using DHCP, you have to make sure that you have enabled a DHCP lease for the device you are running your MC server on. Then you have to find its internal IP address and port forward that. That IP address might have changed for an unknown reason. Can you connect to the server over the local network?
