i got a used gpu from a reputable reseller, it definitely worked in the store when i was buying it, i tried the old gpu in my pc and it works, i switched the bios video setting to PGE, reset cmos(removed battery held power button for a minute, waited 7 minutes). I also tried reseating the gpu, changing the gpu bios mode, trying a different monitor, different cables (hdmi and dvi), the power connectors are definitely properly connected, please someone help i’ve been troubleshooting for hours now. The gpu is a sapphire nitro+ rx580 8gb
#computer turns on, but monitor says no signal

nvm fixed it in a very janky way
How'd you fix it?
forced a single slot gpu under it into a pcie 4x slot, plugged into that, downloaded the drivers for the rx580, rebooted with the cable in the rx580 and it worked, but bios screen refuses to recognise it
so you just took the gpu out, and plugged it into the PCIe slot underneath it?
i didn’t take it out but plugged in a small gpu under it
i wanted to check if the computer actually recognised the rx580
Sounds like a motherboard issue if it's not detecting the GPU
Does it detect the spare one?
windows detects both, motherboard only the spare
probably because it’s and old oem lenovo motherboard
at least it works
yup
i pulled out the spare because there’s no use to it now
Might just need a bios update to make it appear, but if it's working I wouldn't bother
lenovo doesn’t release bios updates for my motherboard since 2018 iirc
I'd leave it alone if it's working with no issues
