Hello, I am moving to a different city pretty far from home. I want to take my PC with me for work. I have my PC Spec'd with a ryzen 9 7900x and a radeon rx 7600xt. PC Part picker says my estimated wattage is 484W including the monitor. At home i have my pc connected to a 12KVA UPS. Which required a rewiring as my circuit was being blown when i tried it with the normal 5A plug that India uses with its 220V power system.
The new place im moving to is a Hostel where i cannot really do anything about the wiring in the room. All I have access to are normal 5A plugs. But i would like to have my PC Safe with atleast enough time to do a safe shutdown. Also the hostel has power thats not very reliable. All this while i have very little cash to spent. I would like to get away with the least I can spent while being assuredly that its safe. What UPS specs should I choose.

ITS URGENT. Need to know in a few days.
PS I have an overspec'd PSU as well at 850 W hoping for future GPU upgrade.

i was trying to get copilot to give me a suggestion and it was telling me 600VA/360W should be enough if i just want enough time to shut down the pc but i dont really get it... can i really get away with that?

Well

I think you also don’t want more current going through a ups than it’s rated for

Btw ignore the wattage rating. That is at an efficiency of 60% which nothing has now

#

You could get a 700, but I personally wouldn’t go below that

Yeah

#

If you’re gonna get a more power hungry gpu, probably 800

#

Or match your psu at 850

Just out of curiosity, wjat would happen if the UPS is underpowered.

It could be the same as when a psu is underpowered

Catastrophic failure or tripping the circuit protection, depending on the quality of the unit
