#Steam games causing display driver to crash

There’s a weird issue I’m having with only 2 steam games: Team Fortress 2 and security Breach. Whenever I launch them, my screen goes completely black and says there is no output from my PC. I have tried security breach on a different games store, and it worked perfectly fine from there. Also, this issue only affects my discrete GPU. If I launch TF2 while plugged into my CPU’s iGPU, it launches and runs completely fine. If I then swap back to my GPU, it shows up but I cannot interact with the game. It also seems to crash iCUE when it crashes too. Does anyone have any idea why this happens, and what to do to fix it?

CPU is an i7-13700k
GPU is a 4070Ti

Had a similar issue years ago with my 980ti. Try going into the Nvidia Control Panel and for those specific games, try setting up a forced vsync setting to limit the amount of frames they can run at and check if it helps. It did on my end. Can't remember what was the root cause in my case back then, but I believe it was power delivery related, when some less demanding games while uncapped pushed the GPU to render a ridiculous amount of frames per second.

When it happens are you still able to give keyboard inputs? Could try Win+Cntrl+Shift+B to hard reset display drivers when screen is black
