#should my screen be doing this?

uh is this custom built???? did this start happening recently and was it after a move of the pc or maybe a accidental kick?
My first idea would replug in the usb connector to the motherboard
yes i built it myslef
how recently?
few months ago
has this been happening since you built it or is this a new problem
got all parts brand new
new problem
hmmmmmm
as far as why it happened I have no idea, I would try unplugging the usb connector to the mb and replugging it in
i might reinstall the driver see if that changes anything
ill try that to
yeah
I done that but it still kept doing it but I installed the game driver and will check when im home
still happening
Does the PC detect a power surge mabye? Windows 11 devices are capable of warning about Power Surges to another device, my laptop warned me a of USB Port power surge about a week or two ago so. It could be that. Or it's possible the drive itself has a virus. (basically run a Anti-Virus scan on it)
shouldnt im running a 750w and nothing else is bugging out
my whole set up takes 480+
nothing is oc to
So mabye check for malware on the Thumbdrive mabye?
Did you try other USB Sticks?
I was thinking of possible GPU fault but you said it was an issue caused by the USB Stick so, probably not the case
So it's likely caused by that one USB Stick then? If so, it's possible it has hidden malware that PC cannot see. Usually the form of a Rootkit, hidden parition, etc.
So you might wanna run Command Terminal
how?
Right click the Windows 11 Icon, the look for Terminal (Admin)
yup
thinking really quick lol
yeah
You can look for hidden partitions by having:
"diskpart
list disk
select disk X (replace X with the thumbstick's disk number)
list partition
"
I am not a expert at this tbh
it might take a bit to scan depending how big that drive is,
you could also run a anti-virus scan by using:
"C:\Windows\system(what ever bit number your OS runs on)>MpCmdRun.exe -Scan -ScanType 2" though come to think of it, it might run it on the whole system, not just the thumbdrive. probably scratch that bit
looking into it, it actually boots up Microsoft Defender after looking it up really quick
30gb
30 gigabytes of what?
thats full storage on it
interesting, that might be the source, I am not entirely sure, imma look it up really quick, the LOST.DIR file
I wouldn't delete it just yet just in case
Looking it up, it means corrupted files:
yeah it was used for my phone with codes but after i moved it to my pc i cleared it
Is the USB port like it's own board or is it directly on the motherboard? (I'd assume so tbh), mabye try to reinstall the USB Drivers see if that helps mabye?
its in the front
Then either it's hidden paritions (not sure if you ran that command yet or not, and if it's still checking) or a Driver issue that needs to be reinstalled
dirty?
I mean it kinda does look dirty from the photo so
though I am not sure if a dirty thumbdrive can cause that glitch on the display though
It's on the inner part of the plastic but looks on the metel
Yeah I cannot really tell if there is metal in the connectors or not (or loose solder joints or solder derbis), though normally if there was a short, it wouldn't usually affect the GPU unless it was a firmware on it in a hidden parition that makes the GPU glitch, dunno tbh
sweet as thanks for helping
oh kek
dude you should have totally tried a different usb first
that’s the first thing you do
no other usb was doing it
Interesting
