#Good build?

form factor where many things can go wrong
go for atx build
do I just get an atx case and put the matx mobo in there? I like the mobo
not a good idea btw
oh
but I like the mobo for the wifi
atx will be cheaper and easy
mobo?
motherboard
in atx you can get wifi too
micro atx go littlle bit higher in price due to r&d
there are none at the same price as the b550 pro vdh wifi
the only one is the b550 gaming gen 3 but it has no wifi
- if you can, build am5
- get rid of the nv2, replace it with something else
@trail arrow bro add cpu cooler too
my budget is 600 USD. Can I fit AM5 into this budget? I can compromise on the GPU and get like a GTX 1060 6GB, I do not mind at all
also the nv2 is cheaper than the TeamGroup MP44L so I figured I could get it
the CPU comes with a cooler
🤣
going to sacrifice cpu on this stock cooler?
the CPU is 65W bro
it's not a i9-14900K lol
go for better fan
good?
the thermalright one is cheaper, I guess I'll take that lol
tight budget, still need to buy a mouse
gonna go for Logitech G305
same??
hmmmmm nope its different
idk which is better lol
see yt reviws
mhm
but the uncertainity in fitting component
mb
do you think the wraith stealth is adequate?
That being said @trail arrow do you expect to upgrade this? Or just keep as is
For a 5600x yeah probably
I intend to upgrade to a 5700X3D, GPU wise idk
When do you plan to do that
definitely not anytime soon lol
I'll use this as-is for a decent few years until the 5600 starts to show its age like the 3600 then I'll upgrade
but idk if 5600 to 5700X3D is a big jump or not
Oh ok so you need a build for right now
mainly the v-cache carrying it
Not as much as a gpu upgrade would be
are you suggesting for me to go AM5 instead?
yep, I still need a bit more money for a mouse (logitech g305)
I have a keyboard and 1080p 75hz monitor
So the mouse needs to be included in the $600
yes
so next upgrade, probably 5700X3D, RX 7800 XT (or 8000 series, idk), 1440p 165hz IPS monitor, and maybe 32 gigs of RAM
hopefully 650w is enough
32 gigs ram?
im not one for radeon cards, but it should be fine
will upgrade slowly, but for now I will use the PC for a few years
id also suggest a 750w at least
a750gl is $100, a bit too expensive for me
idm nvidia but I don't need CUDA and I think FSR is fine on quality mode
unless I'm buying a 4060 I'm paying a premium for nvidia cards I think
its personal for me, an old radeon card of mine shit the bed and died
after like
3 years
can't find any, I think it's fine cuz this RAM is 30 bucks anyway
I wouldn't mind a 2060 Super which is equivalent to the 6600 but I'd go used
i got a 2080s for $250, so if you can id go for that
does the cl18 make a difference too?
Actually go cl16 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/jBZzK8/gskill-ripjaws-v-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c16d-16gvkc
damn thats a solid 10 bucks more
does the 400 mhz make a difference?
Well yeah
that falls out of budget, I'll see if I can find a 2070 super
maybe I'll go used on the GPU and CPU, I think the remaining parts are tough to find used
I mean not much but like a couple fps yeah
If you can squeeze it it’s worth it
But 3200 would be fine
yeah I think I could but I may go for the used route for the CPU and GPU
For sure
how can I verify that used GPUs work? I don't have the luxury of making a full-on portable PC and testing it when meeting the person
eBay returns are good
same goes for the CPU, besides checking for bent pins how can I verify it's legit?
If it doesn’t work eBay will take care of it
^^^
ahh yea I forgot about that
I was gonna hop onto FB marketplace
yeah no
Lol yeah if you do that, it’s best to make them test it in front of you
But eBay is definitely the easiest
i got my 2080s through ebay, it's amazing
ah okay so ebay then
then all I gotta do is get the g.skill ripjaws RAM instead of the silicon power value gaming one?
Yeah I would get that instead
just be warned, if you dont get a refurbished one, you probably need to repaste the cooler
yeah
definitely get the g.skill
I'll test them then first I suppose, if temps are too high I'll buy thermal paste
if not then I'll use it as-is, maybe with cleaning the GPU with a toothbrush
any recommendation for mobo/ssd/psu/case? or are they good for my budget
@trail arrow
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6600, Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L MicroATX Mini Tower
modified yours
but slightly over budget
@warm fulcrum inc. your idea of 3600mhz ram
😢
