My computer doesn't give video output on my monitor, even though it boots normally and I can actually use I with my keyboard (I can run programs and stuff). It isn't a black screen, there's just no output to the monitor. I checked my display cable, it's fine and I am using the right port for it (I am using the GPU port, not the motherboard one)

Schrodinger's pc
the display is both no output and not blackscreen
@fickle swallow Which CPU?
Have you tried a different port on both your monitor and gpu
Intel i3
did you try intergrated graphics
What generation
Sorry, i should've been more clear. What i meant was i wasn't getting a black screen as in the pc boots and shows a black screen, it just doesn't give any video output so my monitor goes into sleep mode
if you have a gpu that is faulty then intergrated graphics should fix the issue
Unfortunately my cpu doesn't have integrated graphics
Its a very old one, 3rd gen iirc
do you have a spare gpu
this
what
I did try the gpu on a different computer and it works, so the gpu is fine. I also tried changing the VGA cable but that doesn't seem to be a problem
the port on the main board is for intergrated graphis
PICE port problem try a diffrent pcie port
yes i get that and i said diffrtent port on the actuall graphics card also this is not meant to sound passive aggresive
I only one have PCIE x16
swap the gpu
you can but things in higher level pvi slot
I dont have an extra gpu tho
the current gpu you have put it in pci16
slot
or what ever free slot you have
do you have a cpu that has intergrated graphics so that you can use the computer without any issues
It is in pci16 slot, and thats the only one that seems compatible
Yes i do
try that
what motherboard do you have
Okay
and conect the hdmi port on the main board not the graphics card
is the fans on the gpu spinning i know some newer ones do not but is yours
I mean vga
Its an intel board, im not sure which model
Ok ill try that
The gpu doesnt have fan lol
ok
if it even has one
the cpu may not fit the slot
of the broken one
Unfortunately it doesnt
nooooooooo
cpu is not the problem
new i
you are the one making him change the cpu
so that I can get intergrated graphics lol
Yes but the cpu does not fit the socket lol
Any ways back to him
and the main board does not support intergrated graphics anyways so thats out
That plan fails sadly, the motherboard doesnt have a vga port for integrated graphics
Ye
Ok
only way to test now is to get a spare gpu
he might not
Nope, not one with another gpu
like I thought
1
can you send a pic of the mainboard
Why
Reading from the board, I have one PCIe x16 (thats where my gpu is connected to) two PCIe x1 and three PCI slots
I need to do a google lens to check what model it is
If thats to know if i have integrated graphics or not, i dont
so that I can check If the gpu is supported or not duh
It is supported, I have been using this computer for 2 years
It must be like neo said second of all I feel there is too many of and we are clashing Minecraft lord you can help him if it does not work then neo can ping me and I can have a go helping
I wonder if the pcie is at fault since the only thing you havent tried is swaping the gpu
and no I dont have a spare gpu
Btw this problem occurred yesterday when i decided to change the thermal paste on the cpu, so i think i mightve damaged the PCIE slot while taking out the fan
I think thats the case. If it is, do i have to change the whole motherboard?
there are pepole who are expert in soldering
Oh, nice
u said there is only one pice slot why do I see 3 extra
which is colored in white
Those are PCI slots (as they're mentioned on the board), the gpu doesnt fit in them
can you remove the gpu I want a pic of all the pci slots
Idk why there is a heatsink next to the ram slot
controlers do not have heatsinks so what the
wait can you zoom in on the grapics slot which is blue
there is text saying intel desktop board
did you notice that
Maybe yeah
Ok so what I'm going to do is swap out the motherboard with the other pc's board and see if that works
I'll keep you guys updated
if you are going to swap the motherboard can you take a pic of the sticker
I got it thanks to the sticker above the graphics slot I was able to find out that its a Intel DH67CL mainboard
but I am realy not sure cause its hard to see the sticker
