#freshly built pc please help

Have you checked if its booting with the igpu or with the peg/pcie gpu?
It’s booting up with the pcie
And the GPU is directly in the pcie slot or it has a raiser?
It’s my PC and it’s in the PCIE slot. It worked fine until GeForce driver updated and hasn’t worked since. I’ve tried a 4060 and a 4070. But also tried a Radeon 6600, installed drivers for it and it worked fine.
Thats weird
Yeah I’ve done everything I can think of and no avail.
Its like your pc refuses to use nvidia
Yep that’s what it feels like.
All the cables are in?
Yes, I literally completely disassembled. Checked all connections, double checked CPU pins and all. I even reset the PC assuming there was a driver interfering that I couldn’t find.
I’m new to this but I’ve researched for 3 days straight and not a single solution.
Its a very weird thing, have you tried updating the BIOS?
Yes BIOS is updated and even set to default optimization.
The PC is only 2 weeks old, worked for the first week and since the driver updated I haven’t gotten anything GeForce to work since. I really don’t want to take a brand new pc to a shop.
I know, It doesnt fell right
It recognizes the GPU. But after booting up it loses display.
Safe mode works and no drivers installed worked.
Wait, the BIOS recognize It?
Yes
That’s what is so confusing, there’s no sign of failure.
Yes, I have a co worker who’s a PC freak and helped me put it together. But he lives a state away and I don’t visit but once a month.
Thats ok, how about you take not the latest, but the one before driver
I have, same results.
What
Yeah. It makes no sense.
You have anything important in the disk?
No, just games. I have fast internet so that’s no issue.
To try a fresh install of Windows
Yes, I mean that
I really dont know what can you try
It seems its a driver issue
Which you would think an older driver would solve, but it didn’t. I’m so lost at this point.
But, if you pick Up an older one It doesnt make any sense
Yeah, my assumption would have maybe been a new windows update(somehow?) but there would be mass reports of it.
Well, i am not an expert, but I have build some pcs and thats a really weird thing
Maybe
Its the only thing that seems kinda ok
But as you say, its weird noone is having the same issue
It’s weird that my Radeon would work fine. Which is why I assumed it was a bad gpu. But my 4070 won’t work either and it’s literally brand new.
Also, why you have so many graphics cards?
And other question, what version of Windows are you using?
The Radeon was a used graphics card I purchased and never used.
The 4060 was what I bought when I built the pc.
After I came to the conclusion the 4060 shat the bed I said screw it and got a 4070.
Windows 11
Have you tried Windows 10?
I haven’t, which I might resort too at this point. Windows 11 is what I used at work so I’m familiar with it.
Windows 11 is just like a more mac like Windows 10
Try Windows 10
And if the issue is still there, and I hope no, then I would asume that the new driver has bricked the two GPUs
But thats probably not it
Like, im a 99.9% sure it isnt the issue
I would think GPUs wouldn’t detect or have 0 boot up if they’re brick, but not too experienced so I’m not sure.
I’m fixing to shower and take a much needed smoke break. I will do this afterwards and update you. Thank you for the assistance 😁😁
I mean, there are GPUs that are not fully bricked, but because of some damage It cant work with drivers
No problem, dont worry to much tho
Being stressed with this kind of things is the worst, because you cant think straight
