#Laptop to Desktop Migration

Hi, this will be the first time that I have owned a desktop pc, as I have always needed a laptop instead for personal reasons.

I like to think I know a lot, but I’m sure I don’t haha. Please tell me if I’m making mistakes with my configuration, or if I could be making any better decisions. I plan on pretty much using it for gaming and for whatever homework I get at uni. I don’t do any content creation (hence the switch to AMD). I’m also thinking of switching my cpu to 7950X, or the X3D, but not sure yet. Can’t really tell what the difference is between X and X3D though lol. Really wanted to see if I could possibly get in a 4090, but just don’t see the merit in spending $1800 on a component.

Also not set on the case. Plan on buying whatever looks nice and might be compatible (and not that expensive today).

I’m not sure, I’d need to look into how that compares to the 4080s

I would say and AMD GPU is probably better than most NVIDIA GPUs
