#Disk Initialization error

I pulled a 2Tb WD Blue NVME drive from an enclosure I was using for my steam deck, since I want to put it into my new build. However, any time I try to initialize it, I get an error message. I have never seen this happen before, so any help would be vastly appreciated. Screen Shot of error included. I have tried dfferent cables, same issue. Drive is currently in an enclosure which was tested with a different drive, and works fine.

Bypass the external enclosure by putting the NVMe SSD directly into an available M.2 PCIe NVMe motherboard slot. This will rule out issues with the external enclosure.

As I said in the origional post, the enclosure is fine. Tested it with a different drive and cable. It is not the enclosure, as ONLY this one drive has this issue. Also, the drive does the same thing in other enclosures. I do not have a free M.2 slot on a computer currently, as this was going to be addeed to a new build that is not built yet.

Anywho, since you say this drive doesn't work in other enclosures, that points to the drive being the culprit. The only way to verify this would be connecting the drive directly to your motherboard, even if only temporarily to verify if it can be formatted at all.

^ I have several m.2 adapters/enclosures and certain combinations of ssds and enclosures don't allow for certain functions. like formatting, drive initiation and over provisioning. I usually get around the issues by swapping the ssd into the m.2 slot in my laptop and get the issue sorted then putting it back into the adapter/enclosure
